Chapter Two: I Feel Like I've Seen Him Before...

The bright morning light shone onto Y/N L/N's tent. She awoke with a start.

"Come on, if we're too late, Zacian might leave. Let's make a quick stop to Hammerlocke city first. There's something the book said we'd find there." she said, sliding out of her sleeping bag.

Her Pokemon did the same, and soon, they had already made breakfast. Quickly eating her sandwich, though slowly enough so she didn't choke, Y/N flicked her thumb up to scroll throught her phone. She was in no rush to get to the airport, for with great effort, she had taught her Hatterene to teleport from region to region.

Once she had finished her breakfast, she, along with her Pokemon, teleported to Hammerlocke city. As soon as she step foot in Hammerlocke tower, she heard an explosion.

"Scorbunny, use Double Kick!" yelled a boy.

Y/N tried to go around the battlefield, attempting to go unnoticed.

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" ordered a raven haired boy.

There was an explosion, and Y/N coughed, completely surrounded in smoke.

"Are you alright?" asked the boy with the Pikachu.

The smoke cleared, and Y/N stopped coughing.

"I-it's fine." she said shyly.

As Y/N L/N, Y/N was rather shy, especially in front of strangers. She could feel time slipping away from her. If she rushed, she could find Zacian in time. She walked away from them, her eyes fixed onto her book.

"Do you think I was too loud or something, Goh?" asked the boy wearing a cap.

"You were a bit..." said his friend truthfully.

Y/N heard their conversation. She didn't care too much. She would probably never see them again. Most importantly, she had to find whatever it is her ancestor wanted her to find.

At the very top lies a Rusted Shield inside a chest.

Y/N rushed to the top of the tower, her eyes searching for the chest.

"Where is it, now..." she muttered to herself. "Ah!"

She picked up the chest in triumph. It took up a great area, and one could only wonder what it was. Y/N suddenly heard the boys' muffled voices from downstairs.

"Hey, do you think we should apologise again?"

"I think we should, but Professor Cerise will be mad at us if we miss our plane. He did say the tickets were really costly."

Y/N went back to the Shield. Gently lifting the lid up, for she assumed it had aged with time a little.

Perhaps she was off the mark by a bit, for the middle had been heavily scratched, presumably from its time in battle. It was quite badly rusted too, seeming rather useless.

Y/N knew this Rusted Shield though. She read it in a Galarian mythology book, and legend has it that here was storm one day, and giant Pokemon were at war. A hero came and use his sword and shield and saved Galar. Apparently, it could be used to change Zamazenta into its Crowned Shield form.

However, there was no time for that now. She had to get to Alola immediately.

"Hatterene, Teleport."

She felt a curious sensation, only to be greeted with the bright rays of the Alolan Sun. She looked at her watch. Zacian was still on Melemele Island. She still had a chance. It was strange why Zacian was in Alola, as it was meant to be the guardian of Galar along with Zamazenta. Even stranger, it seemed to be at the beach. Bewildered as she was, she rushed to the beach, most unluckily tripping on a rock.

She felt someone's hands in hers, stopping her fall, and she looked up to see a blobd haired boy. He was wearing a white office-style shirt, a black vest and a red tie. His brown boots looked peculiarly new, his red satchel slung over his shoulder.

Her eyes widened a little.

I feel like I've seen him before, thought Y/N. But where?

He looked at her with the same expression she gave him.

"Er..." muttered Y/N. "Well, er... Thanks."

She walked away quickly, her oace quickening with each step.

"Hi!" smiled a girl, running up to me. "I've never seen you before in Alola. Did you move here?"

She looked strangely like the blond boy she just met, or rather, met again. She was wearing a snowy white dress with spots of blue on it. The dress had a mint green ribbon tied around it with a bow.

Y/N did not think they were twins. The blond boy seemed three years older than the girl. She supposed they were siblings, seeing as they looked so alike.

"No, I'm from Galar." said Y/N.

"That's amazing! I've never met anyone from Galar before! May I see your Pokemon? Oh, how rude of me, I nearly forgot. My name's Lillie! Lillie Aether. What's yours?" asked Lillie excitedly.

"Um... My name's Y/N L/N." Y/N said, taking out two Pokeballs, as Cinderace and Hatterene were with her.

She was careful not to get Eternatus' and Zamazenta's Pokeballs, as she was not someone whose trust was easy to gain.

"Wow! What knid of Pokemon are they?" she questioned.

"This is a Cinderace, an Inteleon, and a Rillaboom. They're the fully evolved forms of the Galarian starters. Hatterene is the fully evolved form of Hatenna." Y/N explained.

She was getting a little impatient, trying to stick to her goal of finding Zacian.

"I'm sorry, but I have to leave now, or else I'll be late." said Y/N.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know you were in a rush! Goodbye!" she yelled, as Y/N ran to the beach.

She checked her watch. Bother! Zacian was already gone, back to Galar, according to the watch. She sighed, exasperated. Well, they certainly weren't going to gaze at stars or anything that night. Well, not until they found Zacian.

A few minutes later, she returned to Galar. It was the World Coronation Series that was happening in Hammerlocke Stadium, and everyone was keen to get a good spot. Y/N could have gone herself, if she wanted to. She had won everyone World Coronation Series ever since she entered, as Enigma. She was still pondering over her decision, when the same two boys she had met in Hammerlocke rushed through.

"Come on, before the good seats are taken!" yelled the one with the Scorbunny.

The one with the Pikachu on his shoulder suddenly stopped, and looked at Y/N.

"It's you! Hey, I'm really sorry for the whole explosion thing and all that that." he said apologetically.

"He has a tendency to be careless at times." his friend, or rather, as she had heard the other boy call him this, 'Goh' chided in.

"Hey, are you coming to watch the World Coronation Series too? If so, do you want to come with us?" asked the boy excitedly.

"Ash, you're getting ahead of yourself." Goh reminded him. "Well, I've already said his name, but a proper introduction would be good too. I'm Goh, and this is Scorbunny."

His Scorbunny gazed in awe at Y/N's Cinderace.

"I'm Ash, and this is Pikachu! What's your name?" Ash asked.

"Oh! Um... I'm Y/N, and this is Cinderace. Pleased to meet you." she said politely.

"Oh no, we're late!" said Ash, noticing the time. "Want to join us Y/N?"

"Sure!" She spoke with no hesitation this time.

Perhaps Zacian could wait just a little...
