Hours passed as the ever impatient Y/N waited for the flight to end. She hadn't been on a plane in so many years, as she had preferred to teleport, but she had an informant she needed to meet up with on the plane.

"Did you come?" hissed Y/N softly, her voice being the only thing present in the dark. Apparently, one of the many benefits of travelling VIP is that you get to be in pitch black areas. Just the way she preferred it.

"Yes, but did you tell anyone you're here?" her accomplice retorted, taking a gun out of a suitcase.

"Not a soul."

Y/N picked up the gun that the accomplice gave her and pulled the safe trigger off.

"What are you going to do with that? You never told me exactly why. That isn't exactly fair, you know."

"Gladion... For starters, you never told me how you escaped from Lillie. Besides, you could easily betray me, so I have no intention of telling you. Now, begone with thee. You've done enough."

The platinum haired boy made a sound of protest, but proceeded to step away after Y/N gave him a particularly venomous look.

"You should tell Ash and Goh that you're leaving, you know." he said quietly.

Y/N turned around sharply, pointing the gun at him.

"Kindly remind me when I appointed you as my life counsellor." she snapped. "Go away if you know what's good for you."

"I-I just meant-"

He took a deep breath, which he found particularly difficult to do under Y/N's piercing glare.

"They've been with you for a long time. Your friends, your partners, no matter what they are to you, I know you can trust them. If you can ask me to be your partner in crime-"

"Who said I let you?" the H/C haired girl retorted. "I only chose you because, one, you're rich, and you'd have no trouble getting me this gun model. Two, you don't know how to use a gun, so I could destroy you in three seconds flat if I wanted to. We, rather disappointingly, met earlier in our childhood, and I know that you don't have a fibre of weaponry knowledge in your body."

"But... even if you seem to have a distaste for me, you still talk to me and things. Why can't it be the same for them?"

Y/N's face shadowed over.

"You still have feelings left over for me. Even if you say you got over me, I don't believe you for a second."

Gladion waved his arms in protest, to which Y/N stared at coolly.

"Wha-I don't-"

"Don't lie to me. It's written all over your face. You won't get over your feelings for me, because you've been harbouring them ever since we first met. I may look like someone who doesn't understand romance, but I can tell you like me, and still do. But even so, I know you won't hate me. You accepted my real personality, no matter how hard, brutal, or exasperated I get.

So, yeah. I don't hate you either. But I don't like you, at least not like that. I consider you a friend."

Gladion went silent. None of them spoke for a moment.

"But... Ash still likes you that way. So... do you like him like that? I know that you know he likes you, so why won't you answer him?"

"Just shut up, okay. Emotions shouldn't get in the way of my duty. Right now, my duty is to eradicate Rose, whether by forceful means or otherwise."

Even as she said this, Gladion still thought to himself about what she said.

But... does she really want it to go on like this?
