Ash ran back to the house, running hurriedly back to the hotel.

"Hey, Goh!" he panted.

His friend was looking at his computer, his Cinderace at his side. He was typing something, but as soon as I came, he hurriedly switched to a new tab.

"You know I could see that, right?" Ash said, wiping sweat away from his forehead.

"And you know you're an idiot, right? You could have just used a Ride Pokemon instead of running." Goh chided. "Well, I suppose you did see what I was working on, so I might as well tell you."

Ash sat on a swivel chair nearby and looked at Goh's screen. A newspaper article was open, and there was a picture of Y/N, in her black hood.

"'Infamous champion arriving in Wedgehurst prior to sighting'?" read Ash. "That-that couldn't be Y/N, right?"

"She is." nodded Goh.

"But... she promised..." Ash muttered.

"Promised what? Plus, you said she'd be back with you in your text message. Y/N isn't the type to make promises on a whim. Did she ever say she promised you?"

Ash went silent. He knew Goh was right, but he had painstakingly believed that she really meant what she said. Well, she was good at lying, so he supposed he should have expected it.

"Of course," Goh went on, "you're not going to just going to let her leave, right?"

Ash blinked. Sure, he had thought of this option, but he hadn't thought that Goh would agree with him.

"Really?" questioned Ash. "I'd expected more of a "Y/N's right, we shouldn't meddle with what she's doing" sort of thing."

Goh rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, but Y/N's our friend. Plus, you're not going to get to confess to her otherwise."

"But-"

"If she rejects you, you can move on. If she doesn't then good for you. That aside, she's your friend at her core. You would find her and tell her she could trust you regardless of what relationship you have with her."

Ash went silent. Goh was right, he knew he was. But...

"Do you think she won't want to see us?" asked Ash, fiddling with his cap.

"'Course." replied Goh matter-of-factly. "But any reasonable person wouldn't want to. I mean, she did try to deceive you to save you from whatever dangers she'll face."

"Well, so be it."

He pulled on his bag and dashed out the door. Goh stared at him in disbelief, clearly expecting him to return. When he didn't, he sent a quick email to Ash.

Goh: Er... You know that you have no idea where she's heading, right?

Ash quickly ran back to their room, while Goh shook his head exasperatedly at his friend's impulsiveness.

"Well, according to this news article, Y/N's heading to Wedgehurst, but she could change direction at any time. She is the Champion, so she has numerous services at her disposal." said Goh, scrolling down the article.

"And... This is your cue to tell me where she's heading, Goh."

"Well... Thing is... I don't know where she'll be heading either. One thing's for sure, she's here to pursue Chairman Rose, so wherever he is, she'll track him down."

"So, you're saying that we have to track down Rose?" asked Ash.

"Mm-hm. We'll just kill two birds with one stone. We'll find Y/N and defeat Chairman Rose! Or at least, we'll help Y/N with that."

The two boys nodded in agreement, and set about packing their bags. However, where is the Champion herself currently?

"Excuse me, Miss." said a flight attendant.

The cloaked girl raised her eyebrows.

"No need for the "Miss". I am not some lady who makes much ado about nothing." replied the girl coldly.

"Yes, of course."

The figure in shadows pulled her hood down her face so that it was not evident. As the plane slowly glided out of the borderline of Hammerlocke, the flight attendant moved on to the next passenger, leaving the girl alone.

"Well, farewell, Ash, Goh, Chloe, and everyone else. May we never meet again, if only for your sakes."
