CHAPTER 78

After that fight, I'm really glad we resolved it. Charlie and I locked up the apartment and headed towards the station.

"Are you ready for this?" Charlie asked as he intertwined our fingers.

"Yeah, I think so,"

About twenty minutes later, we entered the station. I've never been to a police station before, I don't like it. It's all grey and dull. I walked up to the reception desk.

"Name," the man said.

"Erm Emily Whitworth,"

"Okay Erm Emily Whitworth, go to the second door on the right, Clark Seatop will see you," the man instructed. He was scary. Anyway, Charlie and I did as we were told and went into the room where Mr Seatop was sat.

"Ahh! Emily come in," he welcomed. Mr Seatop, unlike the receptionist, seemed nice and caring. "How have you been since the kidnap?"

"Well, I got out of hospital late last night with serious bruises on my legs. I was in so much pain that I could hardly walk," I said, trying to remember because even though it only happened 24 hours ago, it all happened in a blurr. I felt Charlie's hand take mine and give it a reassuring, light squeeze.

"Okay and how are you feeling now?" Clark asked taking notes as I spoke.

"Im still in pain. The hospital gave me some tablets that should begin to start working,"

"Good. Can you please tell me every detail of the other night, when you got taken? Take your time, don't panic,"

"I think it was about 6pm, I had just finished rehearsals for Grease and I was walking back to my apartment whilst on the phone to Charlie. We were just talking about how I'm settling back in because he lives in Leeds, England," I paused as my eyes started tearing at the memories. I took some deep breaths. Charlie had now grabbed my hand reassuringly with both of his.

"Don't worry, I understand," Clark said.

"Then all of a sudden, I felt two men grabbing me and pulling me. I tried shouting down the phone to Charlie but the connection cut. I don't remember how I got there, but I then remember waking up in a cell on the fifth floor of the building next to the theatre. It was like a prison. They bet me and everything. I was dragged into a room where Sam and Lauren stood in front of me. When I was dismissed from there, the two men came to take me back to the cell and I struggled against them. I managed to pull one of their masks off. And it was Brad," I said as I hid in Charlie's chest.

"I'm taking it you've had some sort of history with Bradley,"

"He was our best friend. Emily's for 5years, mine for 1year before he left after a fall out with his girlfriend. We had no idea where he had gone," Charlie answered for me.

"Thank you," I whispered to Charlie.

"Okay, I think that's everything we need because we interview Jordi Whitworth, Oliver Garland, Harvey Cantwell, Leondre Devries, Joseph Devries, Ryan Robertson and Andrew Fowler yesterday. You will be needed in court to present your case in two days time. It's nothing to worry about. They will definitely be sent to jail, it's jut to testify the length of time," Clark said standing up as we did so too.

"Thank you," I smiled as I shook his hand.

"Your welcome,"

And then we left the station. As we walked outside, Charlie pulled me to one side and just engulfed me in a massive hug. We held it for what felt like forever.

"I'm so proud of you Em,"

"Why?"

"Because you've gotten through this. Not many people would've. If the worst had happened to you, my world would of collapsed. I would of been empty, apart from Leo, family and music. You fill that gap. It just taken me until now to realise how much you flippin' mean to me. I've never loved anyone as much as I love you,"

"That's so sweet Charlie. I love you to infinity and beyond,"

"Love you more. How about, before we go to the meeting at your agency, we go to a café?"

"Starbucks?" I asked.

"Starbucks," Charlie confirmed.
