CHAPTER 24

EMILY'S POV

It's the last day of our GCSE's and all I can say is thank god🙏! It's been the most stressful time of my life! Also, Charlie's still been acting funny, I don't know what's up with him. I've asked Leo and he said that he didn't know either. Everyone was round at mine (everyone as in Shannon, Brad, Charlie, Leo and I) as we were sorting out tomorrow as we all were going to the cinemas to see The Rewrite. Shannon and Brad were sat on the two armchairs, Charlie and I on the sofa with Charlie laid down and me on his knee on his chest. Leo was on the floor playing with Fluffy and Mel was sat beside him.

"So is everyone definitely in?" Leo asked

"Yep," Shannon confirmed.

"I'm in," I replied.

"Yeah," Brad answered.

"Charlie?" Leo asked. He was on his phone. "Charlie?" Leo tried again.

"Charl?" I asked nudging him.

"Yeah? Sorry," he apologised.

"Are you coming tomorrow?" Shannon asked.

"Erm...I...I can't sorry. My er cousins are coming up and I need to see them," he replied. I sighed.

"Are you sure their isn't a way you can come?" I asked looking up at him.

"Sorry baby girl, I will another time, promise,"

"Ok," I replied.

"I love you," he smiled sheepishly.

"I love you too," I replied when he pulled me into a massive hug.

About an hour later everyone went as we still had two exams left in the morning then we were free! Then it's only 4weeks till prom! Exciting! When they had left, Charlie was the last so I was left with him alone for 5.

"Charlie?" I said.

"Yeah?"

"Are you sure your ok? You've been acting really strange and I'm worried," I continued.

"Yeah, I'm sure! Hey, don't you worry about me, I'm fine," he replied pulling me closer.

"Promise?" I asked and he nodded. This reassured me.

**HONK**

"I guess that's my mum," Charlie laughed.

"Yeah," I giggled. He smiled at me. God I love his dimples!

"Love you!" He said.

"Love you too!" I replied. He pulled me into a hug and gave me a kiss. I kissed back. Karen honked again so Charl really had to go. When he had gone p, it was back to revising.

CHARLIE'S POV

I hate lying to Emily. But I don't want her to worry. I honestly don't know what to do but I have the rest of my GCSE's tomorrow so I need to focus on that so I need to revise.

*the next day**

EMILY'S POV

I woke up to the smell of pancakes drifting up from the kitchen. Mmmmm! I wondered down the stairs and into the kitchen. To find..... Jordi? Cooking? This is new!

"Hey Jord, since when did you cook?" I asked.

"Well I thought that since it was your last day of exams, I'd do something special for you and make you pancakes with Nutella!" He exclaimed.

"Aww thanks big bro!" I smiled giving him a hug.

"No problem! Anything for my little sister!" I just smiled.

"So I hear your off to the cinema with Leo, Shannon and Brad," Jordi stated.

"Yeah, Charlie can't come as he has family stuff," I replied as I ate my breakfast.

"If you text Ollie nicely, he might pick you up on his way round here about 8ish," Jordi told me.

"Will do," I said clearing my plate away. "He calls me his little sister and he'd do owt for me," I continued. I text Ollie saying 'hey me, Leo, Brad and Shannon are at the cinemas until about 8 so pretty pretty please will you pick us up on your way round to mine x?' and went upstairs to put my uniform on. I did my hair nice and simple with a fish-tail plait going over my right shoulder. I also put on some light makeup. I looked at my phone and Ollie had replied,

'Seeing as it's you and I'm feeling generous as its your last day of exams x'. Replied with a

'Thank you! x'

When I was ready, I grabbed my bag and left to meet Charlie and Leo. It took me about five minutes to get to where we meet and when I arrived they were already there.

"Hey Emy," Charlie said pulling me into a hug.

"Hey Charl," I replied hugging him back.

"Hey Bestie," Leo yelled.

"Hey bestie," I said.

We arrived at school and went straight into the first exam. I was sat in the hall waiting for it to start. When it did, I opened the paper in confidence because it was a history exam which I'm pretty confident in! Then I didn't even have time to leave the hall before I had my citizenship exam. This was the last leg...

So glad it's over! Now it's time to hit the cinema! I was upset that Charlie couldn't come but I understood and he promised he'd make it up to me. I went to Shannon's and got changed. I decided on my white washed light blue jeans, pink tie dye top tucked in but baggy, leather jacket and my Nike Airs. I kept my hair the same. Shannon wore a cute yellow summer dress that looked gorgeous on her! She had her stunning brown hair down and lights curled. Brad and Leo knocked and I got the door. They came in an d we just asked each other how our final exams went and by the sounds of it, they all went good! When we were all ready, we caught the bus into town and headed excitedly for Cineworld. We walked through the big, heavy doors and to the ticket booth. We all paid separately. Once done, we went to go get some drinks and popcorn. I mean, what's a movie without popcorn?

We were queuing up and I turned round to ask the boys what flavour popcorn they wanted when I saw someone with blonde hair and dimples walk in the cinema. Leo saw where I was looking and glanced over too. It was something I really didn't want to see...

Claudia!

"Ch...Char... Charlie?" I stuttered trying not to cry but I couldn't help it. My supposed boyfriend and the persons who's bullying me coming to the cinema together as if it was some sort of date! Charlie turned around shocked. He started looking around and eventually came up with

"Emily, it's not what it looks like! I swear!" He tried to say but I'm having none of it.

"Save it!" I said streaming with tears and running off. I didn't know where I was going and to be honest I didn't care. I just needed to get out of there as fast as I could. I found myself in the local park. I stopped at a tree, catching my breath. I couldn't stop crying. I could feel my phone vibrating in my pocket. It was Charlie. I threw my phone to the floor and slumped against the tree and just cried into my knees.

How could he? I love him and I thought he loved me? Why did he do this? And with my enemy as well! I can't believe it! It started raining but I didn't care. I don't know what I care about anymore. Well I do, Charlie. I guess he doesn't care about me...
