I- yall ain't ready . . .

The minutes crawled by painfully slowly. Bakugo and I sat in silence at opposite corners of the classroom.

I sat on the ground against the door with my arms clutching my knees, intently staring at the floor.

At first, it felt like the distance between us was immeasurable, like a canyon separating us.

However, as time went by, the gap gradually closed. Soon it seems like the walls were closing in around us.

About ten minutes in, he broke the silence.

"Why did you get so mad at me?"

"Because you were such a dick to me," I mumbled, surprising myself with how fast I answered.

"I'm a dick to everyone."

It took me a moment to reply as I tried to form a cohesive thought.

"But it was the first time you acted like that with me."

"So?"

"I . . . l guess I thought I was . . . different."

The whole room tensed, going silent. Every second, the tension multiplied, beginning to contract.

Out of fear of the pressure crushing me, I stood up and began pacing between the chalkboard and the teacher's desk.

Suddenly, a thought came to mind.

I sat down on the edge of the desk, my back to Bakugo.

"Why were you so mean to me?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, what was the reason? Everything was great! Our friendship was progressing just fine!"

I heard him making quiet, strained grunts, as if there was a war happening in his head.

A war of whether or not to tell the truth.

"I need to be the number one hero! To get there, I can't get distracted . . . and you . . ." -he struggled for a moment- "You were distracting me!"

I gasped lightly.

I guess truth won the war.

After a moment, he continued.

"So I pushed you away, and that . . . definitely worked, maybe a little too well," he chuckled.

I couldn't help but giggle at the thought of me pinning him against a locker.

"By the way, I don't actually think your quirk is weak. It's not. It's actually pretty powerful. And your personality isn't shitty."

"Aww, thanks! Okay, my turn. You aren't weak, and you aren't . . . how did I phrase it again?"

"A little bitch," Bakugo whimpered.

Although he sounded genuinely upset, I couldn't hold in my giggling. I laughed hysterically. Soon, Bakugo was doing the same.

I felt so good to laugh. I realized how long it's been since I laughed. Really laughed. It was the type of laugh that has you gasping for breath.

When we finally caught our breath, the room was quiet once again, although this time, the silence wasn't uncomfortable or hostile.

Instead, it was warm and cozy, like a fluffy blanket wrapping around you.

I realized I hadn't made eye contact with Bakugo this whole time. I badly wanted to, but I feared that I wouldn't be able to look away. I feared that his eyes would hypnotize me.

But most of all, I feared that under his spell, I would do something . . . rash.

So, I stayed where I was on the desk and continued absently picking at the table's peeling fake-wood plastic.

Suddenly, a deep, raspy voice spoke into my ear, vibrating my core and sending shivers down my spine.

"I need to stay away from you . . . "

Desperately trying to regain control of my pounding heart, I slid off the edge of the desk and turned around to face Bakugo.

Starting at his shoes, I slowly scanned his physique.

His hands were squeezed into tensed fists.

His chest rose and fell rapidly under his P.E. uniform, just as mine did.

His cheeks were flushed with deep pink, only making him even cuter.

Finally, I reached his eyes.

Oh god, . . . his eyes!

It was just as I suspected. The moment we locked eyes, I was breathless.

His half-lidded orbs bore into mine, saturating me with his desire. His scarlet irises seemed to overflow with barely bridled lust.

" . . . But I can't seem to keep my distance."

Braking our eye contact, he watched his hand slowly raise to my shoulder.

He hesitated for a moment, his hand hovering over my forearm. Catching my gaze, his eyes looked into mine, asking for permission.

I nodded slightly, and his gaze drifted back to his hand, which made contact with my skin.

I flinched beneath his touch, tensing up. It didn't take long for me to relax into it, though.

He began moving down my arm, his finger pads grazing my skin delicately, giving me goosebumps.

I took a step towards him, narrowing the gap between us.

I saw in his eyes that it wasn't enough. He wanted to eliminate the space between our bodies.

He wants me.

And I want him.

My heart was beating so fast that it almost hurt.

He hesitantly placed his hands on my waist.

"Y-y/n . . . c-can I kis-"

I refused to let him finish.

Throwing my arms around his neck, I pressed my lips against his.

He tensed for a moment before melting into the kiss. His arms wrapped around my midsection, and he pulled me onto him by my lower back.

I ran my fingers through his soft hair, desperate for more. Grabbing fistfuls his hair, I accidentally pulled it a little too hard

I feared my mistake would make him upset or weirded out. In fact, quite the opposite happened.

Smirking a little, Bakugo seductively growled and yanked me even closer.

Unable to hold it in any longer, I let a soft whimper out.

His arms held me in a death grip as if I would be torn away from him any moment.

Suddenly, the door swung wide open.

"Time's-"

Mina and Kirishima stood in the doorway, stopped in their tracks.

Bakugo and I were like deer in headlights, staring at our intruders with wide eyes.

Mina started out in complete shock, which morphed to realization, then to giddy excitement.

"OH. MY. GOD!!! EEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!"
