Chapter 26

After an extremely dull week of following Uwabami around, I was grateful that internships were over and classes resumed.

As I neared the 1-A classroom, I heard a familiar angry roar.

Katsuki!

With internship work piled on top of regular school work, I hadn't seen him all week. Of course, we've texted and face-timed each other, but there was nothing like seeing him...feeling him.

I ran into the classroom and hurdled towards Katsuki. I lunged at him, making him stagger back, and kissed him fiercely.

Only then did I register that Kiri and Sero had been laughing at him before I interrupted. I stepped back, wondering why they teased him and saw that his hair was plastered to his head.

My body doubled over, and I held a clawed hand over my cackling mouth. (A.N.: think "Nicki Minaj's laugh on Ellen" Iykyk)

"Stop laughing!" Katsuki hissed, shaking with rage. "My hair's gotten used Jeanist's styling, and I can't get it back to normal!"

When we didn't stop, he growled, "Did you not hear me?! I'll kill you all!"

"I'd like to see you try, pretty boy!" Sero snarked.

Katsuki almost spasmed with ferocity, and his hair exploded back to its original state. "WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?!?!"

"Calm down, Kat," I chuckled.

To my surprise, he actually listened, lowering his hands, which had been poised to explode our faces.

When Kiri and Sero walked back to their desks, I looked into my boyfriend's eyes. "Sero's right though." I ruffled his hair. "You're quite a pretty boy."

I smiled and walked to my desk, and when I glanced at him again, he had sat down and was staring into his desk with his hands trying to shield his blushing cheeks.

Got him lol.

Today's hero class was at a training area he had never been to before. After changing into our hero costumes, Mr. Aizawa led us to an industrial-looking fake city.

All Might stood in the arena's entrance waiting for us.

"Welcome to Field Gamma! Now, listen carefully. Today we will be doing a rescue race."

The group made a flurry of reactions, before letting All Might continue.

"You will be competing in groups of five, and each person will start from a different location on the outskirts of the city. I will put out a distress signal, and the first to reach me wins! But keep the property damage to a minimum," he smiled, eyeing Katsuki.

"What are you looking at, big guy?" Katsuki grunted.

'Big guy' ignored him. "Alright! Let's begin!"

The first group was Mina, Sero, Iida, Tail guy, and Midoriya.

I was rooting for bestie of course, but when the race began, it was undeniable that Midoriya was the best of the group. He spent so much time with air under his feet, it looked like he was flying. It was...incredible.

That's a lot of improvement from just one week of interning, I thought.

"That's way too much improvement from just one week of interning, you little shit," Kat hiss under his breath, giving the screen a death glare.

As Midoriya neared All Might, his foot slipped on a pipe, falling to the concrete below. Before he could get back up, Sero zipped past him, securing his win.

After congratulating Sero and giving group 1 notes, All Might return to the rest of the class.

"Group 2 will be Bakugo, Jiro, Kirishima, Mineta, and L/n," he announced.

"Ha! This should be easy!" Kat boasted.

I shot him a look. "You wish!"

"I'll destroy your pretty little face," he sneered.

I batted my eyelashes mockingly. "So you think I'm purrrtty?"

"Yeah, but-" he seemed lost for words, his cheeks dusting with pink.

A chuckle arose from a few classmates, and soon, Katsuki's flustered state became something of a spectacle.

"No, Bakugo! Don't fall for her seductions!" Mineta warned, looking at me fearfully. "All women are vessels of the devil!"

I think his internship for Mount Lady changed him.

"I never thought I'd see Bakugo blush!" Uraraka giggled.

"I SWEAR I'LL KILL YOU ALL!" Kat roared, turning his back on everyone to try saving face.

At my starting location for the race, I got my muscles warmed up with a little jig.

I felt sure I would win, as my quirk was practically made for this. The only thing that tainted my confidence was Katsuki.

All Might's voice talked in my earpiece. "Ready!" I tightened my ponytail- "Set! -poised myself for takeoff- "GO!" -and pushed off the ground.

Once I soared above the labyrinth of pipes and building, I double tapped the side of my visor.

"Zoom in."

I scoped the city and found the primary colors of All Might on top of a build. I beelined towards him, making faster time than anyone in my group could.

Except for Katsuki. He appeared on my left, seemingly out of nowhere, and only a few buildings away from All Might.

Literally HOW?

I could tell he was set to reach him before me, and a burst of adrenaline helped me propel myself forward even faster.

Just as he took his final leap toward the goal, I swerved in, slapping him to the ground with a heavy gust of wind from above.

I barreled into my teacher, though it was more like barreling into a boulder, because he didn't budge from his heroic pose.

"L/n WINS!" All Might announced.
