Before this chapter begins, I need your opinion. What do you think Bakugo should call Y/n? I used "Teddy Bear" previously, but some people didn't like it, and I have been feeling weird about it. Leave your suggestions here!
While Mahi laid on my bed drawing in his battered sketchbook, I slumped against the headboard, scrolling on my phone.
The clock had just struck seven, and we were exhausted from a long Saturday of video games, cookie baking, and most importantly, telling stories from the week.
Because of the psychotic way U.A. was run, I naturally had the most tales to tell, and I demanded he come over the moment I awoke.
Now, we'd babbled about all of the usual topics, save romance (I left Bakugo out of my anecdotes), and comfortable quiet enveloped us.
As I scrolled through Instagram, I stumbled upon a fan cam of myself at the sports festival. After recovering from the initial shock, my heart warmed. It still hadn't sunk in that I was semi-famous.
The clip was of me doing the debris storm move. I chuckled to myself. That was pretty epic.
I was sure that the trick was the main reason people liked me, especially the intern agents. It was undoubtedly the sole reason I got any offers at all, as I had performed poorly in my battle with Bakugo.
My mind skipped from one thought to another, thinking about my internship, then my official debut before landing on my hero persona.
My costume doesn't really match my name...I pictured the garment. The yellow and purple were supposed to be complimentary, but they just muddle to a sickly brown. And that neckline is uncomfortably low.
An idea popped into my head. "Hey, Mahi! Would you be okay with sketching a new hero costume for me? I'm not a great artist, and they got some stuff wrong."
When he agreed, I explained what I wanted and gave him some space to draw. A few minutes later, he ripped a page out of his sketchbook and handed it to me.
I lightly gasped, amazed not only at the stunning design but at how much it looked like me. "Mahi...it's beautiful."
"Aw, shucks," he smiled.
The face mesmerized me. Not a single line was out of place; it was like looking in a mirror. "But, you know, you didn't have to draw the face."
"Yeah, sorry. I got a little carried away," he said, putting a hand on the back of his head.
After annotating some preferences, I took a picture of the blueprint and emailed it to the support center.

The next day
"You've got a package!" my mom hollered from downstairs.
"Coming!" I replied, abandoning my book and scurrying out of my room.
I didn't remember ordering anything, which, in my opinion, the best kind of mail.
Said package was a monstrous official-looking blue box with "U.A." printed in yellow. I snatched it up and lugged it into my room. It was surprisingly light for its large size.
Hopping on the bed, I ripped the tape off and opened it.
My new hero costume was laid out neatly, the gold metal parts gleaming in the afternoon sunlight that draped across my room.
"Well that was fast," I said to myself.
I picked up the note that lay on the top and read it.
Y/n L/n,
The U.A. Hero Support Department thanks you for your order and presents your new and improved hero costume. The metal is lightweight and ultra-durable, just as you requested.
Additionally, a special bonus gadget has been added due to an excess from the first-year hero support course.
I glanced back at the box, a futuristic-looking band that I hadn't ordered catching my eye. I picked it up, examining it as I read on.
The curved band is an eye covering loaded with helpful tech, including heart rate, physical stamina, phone contacts, e.t.c. Think of it as the glasses version of a smartwatch. To activate it, tap on it anywhere above the ear. Then, just say what you want, and the information will appear in your eyesight.
To get it fully set up, go to room 1-H and ask for Mei Hatsume.
Sincerely,
U.A.H.S.D.
After fiddling with my new device, I put my costume on. It fit like a glove, I assumed because of the body scans the school had us do.
As I posed in the mirror, I was interrupted by the last person I would have expected to walk into my room.

Bakugo's POV
Y/n stood in front of me in a stunning costume that hugged her striking figure, making me flush all over.

"Ak! Where's the rest of it?!" I yelped, covering my eyes with a hand.
She smacked my hand down, her bright eyes dulling for a moment, her lips pursing. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"I mean, What's with all the skimpy clothes?"
"Okay, first of all, this is way more aerodynamic than any nun's habit, and I'm not gonna sacrifice that for modesty. Secondly, why do you care?"
I was sure she knew why, and she just wanted to hear me say it. I wouldn't give her the satisfaction.
When I said nothing, she continued. "And third, why are you in my house?"
"You didn't see my text? I said I was coming over," I said, whipping out my phone and showed my text, which read, 'I am coming over right now. We're gonna hang out.'
She looked at me, making my hands all clammy and warming my face. Looking at the text again, I realized how creeping I sounded. 'I am coming over'? 'Right now'?
I waited for her to say something, but she just kept staring at me blankly.
Finally, she snorted, holding back laughter. "What are you waiting for? Don't just stand in the doorway; come in!"
I awkwardly sat on the edge of her bed as she cleared stuff off it. "So, what do you wanna do?" she asked.
"Hang out. Duh."
"But what do you wanna do?" she pressed.
I had many rebellious thoughts of what I would like to do, none of which I felt like sharing.
Her face lit up. "I know! I can show you my manga collection!" She seized the book on her nightstand. "I've been reading this one, and it's really good! It's called My Savior University and it's about..."
If you told me a month ago I would be taking time out of my weekend to swoon over a girl as she showed me her favorite books, I would have blown your face off.
But there I was, the happiest I'd been in a long time.
