SO so sorry for not uploading last week. It's been a really tough month, and I really needed a break, but I'm back now. N e ways, I hope yall enjoy this chapter!
It was 5 pm, and I sat in my room, studying hard for the finals. At least, that's what I was supposed to be doing. In reality, I was staring blankly at a little lump of paint on the wall.
As I was mentally preparing (and stalling) to get back to work, my phone buzzed on the bookshelf I had put it on to stop it from distracting me.
I pounced on it, thankful for a distraction from studying, and saw a text from Katsuki.
'Hey princess.'
I smiled stupidly at my phone and tried to think of something equally cute to respond with. To my dismay, all I could come up with was 'Hey boom boom boi."
I cringed the moment I sent it. Oh god. Is that weird? It's kinda weird, isn't it.
My phone vibrated again.
'Are you at your house?'
I frowned, confused why he's asking.
'Yea..?'
'Come outside'
Perplexed, I slipped my shoes on and jogged downstairs. I opened the front door and saw Katsuki dressed nicer than usual, holding a bouquet of flowers.
When he saw me, he held them out for me to take. His face mirrored the color of his scarlet button-up t-shirt, and he diverted his gaze, the next house over suddenly becoming extremely interesting.
I smiled and took the bouquet. "What are you doing here?" I asked.
Now looking at the ground, he mumbled something, but with his hand covering his blushing face, it was incomprehensible.
"What?"
"Tch. Let's just go," he grunted, took my hand, and pulled me down the path to the street.
"Go where?!" I said, jogging to keep up.
"On a surprise date, idiot!"
I giggled happily, then stopped in my tracks. "Hold up. Let me go get changed real quick."
"What do you mean? You look fine."
I looked down to affirm that I was wearing what I thought I was wearing (sweats, sneakers, and a baggy t-shirt), and looked back at him critically. He just stared at me blankly, not a hint of sarcasm on his face.
"You can't be serious."
"Yes, I can."
"I can't go out in public like this!"
"We're not going anywhere public."
"But- b-" I sputtered. "You look so nice, and I look all-"
He neared me and put his hands around my waist, pulling me close. "You're always gorgeous."
"No, I'm not! My shirt is stained all over, and my hair-"
He pressed his lips on mine, his hand on the back of my neck gently tugging me in. Pulling away, he examined my reddening face.
"See? Look how cute you are, all rosy-cheeked!" he smirked.
Apparently, my stomach was a gymnast, because it was doing summersaults. I instinctively covered my flushed face.
Kat took my hands off my face and tugged me to the streets. "Now, let's go dumbass."
I quietly followed his lead, his surprisingly calm demeanor hushing my protests.
As we started down the street, I had to lightly jog to keep up with Katsuki. I noticed that he kept adjusting his clothes and combing his fingers through his hair like his couldn't decide what to do with his hands.
After a few minutes of trotting along behind him, I panted, "Hey, could we slow down a bit? I'm kinda out of breath."
"That doesn't sound like my problem, does it?" Though his tone was cynical, he slowed considerably so we could walk in tandem.

Katsuki stopped abruptly. I began turning to the road towards the town on our left, but he guided me into the wooded area to the left.
"Are you sure this is right?" I joked, though I was half-serious.
"Of course I'm sure. I'm the one that found the spot."
'Found'? My interest piqued, and as we stepped into the trees, I looked at him curiously.
His expressionless, stony visage faced straight ahead, but he fidgeted like he wanted to run a marathon. When I took his hand, I found that his pulse was so fast, you would think he was already running one.
"If you want, we can speed up now." I smiled at his perplexed expression and began jogging backward in front of him.
He grinned in realization and sprinted past me, leaving me in the dust.
Chuckling to myself, I took off after him.
As I neared him, he yelled, "You'll never catch me, Wind Bitch!"
"Are you trying to light a fire under my ass? Cuz it's working!" I laughed back.
A rush of adrenalin coursed through my veins, and I sprinted closer to Katsuki, reaching for the back of his shirt.
The moment I seized him, my foot caught on a tree root gone rouge, making me topple into him. We tumbled to the ground, rolling over each other until coming to a halt in a patch of tall prairie grass.
We took a moment of laughing and trying to catch our breath. Katsuki, who was on top of me, gazed happily down at me, still panting a little.
Just as I began getting lost in his beauty, he jumped up, brushed himself off, and offered his hand to help me up. I took it and got up.
"Oh look," he said, "we're here."
I realized we had rolled out of the woods and into a prairie field. In the center, there was a picnic blanket laid out. A basket overflowing with food, drinks, games, and more, sat on it. The space was surrounded by a string of lights suspended on poles.
Katsuki looked at me nervously, awaiting a response.
I wanted to give him that, but I was frozen in surprise, my eyes stinging with emotion.
When I didn't say anything, he pinched his nose bridge. "Say something."
"I...I love it! I mean, of course I do. Just look at it!" I said quickly.
He regained his cocky composure. "I- Yeah, I know it's great, I have eyes," he boasted. "Now come on!"
I followed him to the blanket, trying to keep from skipping like a child.
This should be fun.
