-Okay, we entered Eganis, no problem.- Dante commented ironically next morning as soon as they were all awake, which needless to say, was pretty early due to their irregular sleep patterns.- Now can you please show us how are we even going to get close to the Egani HQ without being detected as they are already pretty aware of us now?-
-We accept suggestions.- joked Liam as he handed cups of coffee to all of them.-
Chaos unleashed itself as soon as he finished, nobody really providing useful suggestions but they were not expecting to actually get that close, not even the one who actually had Egani blood – which was actually the only one in silence as she contemplated all of her life choices.
"How are we going to gather information?" she thought at first, but then she remembered that even back then, there were some people who were against his father's decisions but that still followed his orders.
The most prominent figure on that aspect was the man who had aided her mother when she first moved here, who protected her until she was exiled and that later was assigned to care for her until she eventually convinced him to train her – her mentor, the only problem to her reasoning?
He had died saving her, though she was sure that his ideology was passed on, "but to whom?"
She also wondered if Viktor felt the same but she immediately discarded the option as getting into the realm was complicated enough for them to even try to get close to the Novack heir.
-I know that expression.- said Reyla snapping Kiara out of her trance.- You are thinking.-
Kiara turned to look at the blonde indignantly and she slowly stood up without breaking eye contact with Reyla whose green eyes shifted from humorous to preoccupied.
-Of course I think Rey! -she scoffed in disbelief, Liam quickly standing up to hold her.- What was that supposed to mean? -
-Ara she didn't mean it like that.- he whispered in her ear.-
-There he goes! -added Freya, further increasing the tension.- Where were you when we needed you to knock some sense into her? -
The room was completely silent as they all watched Kiara's left eyebrow twitch, "she is going to kill her," they all thought.
But Kiara took a deep breath and smiled before relaxing her body on Liam's arms who looked at her bewildered.
"Not again," thought Liam as he had flashbacks of the last time he had pranked her back in Khaeron and how she had come back at him, "this will not end up well." Nonetheless, he smiled as he let her go.
-My condolences Stefan.- said Dante, causing the brunettes to look at him in confusion.- You won't even get to marry.-
And this time nobody was fast enough to prevent the hit that Dante took from Freya, which literally caused him to fall from his chair due to the impact.
An hour later they were finally walking out of the apartment they had rented since they finally accomplished both to calm Freya down and to reduce Dante's lip and cheek swelling. Their goal that day would be to wander close to places that were attended by soldiers in hopes that they would overhear where they gather when they are off-duty and then focus on finding one that, according to Kiara, might have a different ideology inside of the ranks.
So the whole day they were all going to different sections of the realm only stopping by to have a late lunch and disclose their findings there.
-Never figured that they would serve seafood this nice you know? -asked Stefan when the food was served in front of them, Kiara purposely hiding her face with her palm.- My expectations were high but this is straightforward awesome.-
