-Please do not kill yourselves.- muttered Jayden, Kiara's youngest brother who had come to assist her with the combat's time.-
Their training weeks had passed by fast, and their last day was their final combat. Team vs. Leader. Which caused Kiara to stand in the middle of their mini arena completely alone and wary for any sudden movement, ignoring Jayden's extremely nervous stand.
The poor brunette knew what his sister's life was comprised of but he never expected her and Liam to snatch him out of the Marrick Household hours before the ceremony of the soon-to-be alphas, just for him to measure the combat's time.
-Listen fellas.- she said harshly.- Last time your performance was terrible, you didn't even manage to give me a scratch so this time I am at least expecting some bruises from your behalf.-
The cheerful and caring redhead had vanished and was replaced by her stoic fierce battle persona, a change that would scare anyone who did not know her enough. The first time the new cadets experimented that side of Kiara, they ended up wrecked and full of bruises, cuts and blood, they got chills from the instance that her dull golden eyes landed on each one of them.
That day neither Liam nor Reyla recognised the teenager in front of them, and they had not completely understood the extent of damage that losing most of her teammates had caused her until she kicked his face the second she saw him and when she head locked the blonde girl when the latest had tried to hit her from behind. Now, all five of them remained hidden from their leader's sight, all thinking on different ways to strike her and actually get to damage her.
"She knows how to dock us even if we strike in groups of three, but what if we all go for her." Liam thought before sharing a look with the remaining four members that were hidden, all catching his message.
The moment the coin Kiara had thrown into the air as a signal for a nervous Jayden to start the watch, landed.
The second that Jayden signalled them to start, Liam swiftly moved towards Kiara with his spear aiming towards the crease of her neck but before he could land a hit, Kiara deferred the blow with her left sword, instantly moving her right one towards his side, causing him to dodge with his spear and her to quickly move out of his way with an offensive stance.
Her golden eyes showcased a hint of excitement while his grey ones clashed with hers expectantly for any sudden movements from her behalf.
Moving fast, Liam moved his spear towards her right side and without giving her that much of a reaction time he suddenly turned the other way around, clashing with her left sword while her teeth gritted from the force they were both pulling into their actions. Realising her opening, she quickly deferred the spear once again and lunged towards him, this time forcing him to adopt a defensive stance in order to counter her fierce spins, making it obvious that had they used actual weapons, their fight could have gone terribly.
Suddenly a spin from his spear caused her to drop her swords, so taking advantage of it, he lunged and moved to hit her, but instead of hitting her, she threw herself backwards, placing her hands on the floor and using her right foot to kick the spear away from him.
Both of them stood unarmed, watching each other with a cold stare. Kiara quickly assumed her defensive stance, with her open hands when she noticed from the corner of her eye that Reyla had started to run towards her and that seemed to have every intention to attack her from behind.
She instantly focused on Liam when she saw him jab aiming straight for her face, so she grabbed the arm that he had used to try and hit her, and pulled him towards her using her own body weight, almost making a frown when she heard Reyla's foot landing on Liam's chin so strong that even the redhead was pulled towards the side Liam was falling to because of the strength.
