Kiara had spent the next day either apologising for suddenly vanishing and leaving them alone in the plaza or trying to lecture them into being more careful as they would now have to worry not only for the trainee that Kiara had knocked over but also the low-rank soldier that had approached her the day before, "thankfully it was a low-ranked one," they had said afterwards but Kiara still lectured them anyways.
Furthermore, she was currently trying to calm them down so she could relay what her ex-mentor had told her the night before but she was finding it impossible as every single one of her members, including Freya, were currently coming up with ways to gather intel from the HQ without being caught. Eventually, she had enough of it and climbing on top of a table, she yelled and stomped on the hardwood, causing them all to stop and look at her with shocked gazes.
-Are you done? - she demanded with a slightly irritated tone radiating from her voice.- I have been waiting for you all to shut up so I could share something.-
Almost instantly they all shifted slightly in their positions as a gesture of regret for not listening, making Kiara scoff and jump to the floor, enjoying the attention that she was finally receiving from her members.
-Yesterday when I vanished, I was actually dragged away...- she started, shooting a glare to Dante who was about to interrupt her but then sat back down under her stern gaze, closing his mouth.- By the man who used to be my mentor, and yes, it is the same one that I have thought was dead until last night.-
She momentarily paused to take in all of their reactions and although some of them were surprised, the rest frowned sceptically to the whole ordeal.
-Can we trust him? -asked Jasper, warily as he was already figuring out where the conversation was directed.-
-I am inclined to believe that yes.- she replied before pouting slightly.- But it's been years since the last time I saw him, so I want to have a back-up plan.-
"First things first, the area. He told me to meet up with him in the place he used to train me in, said place was a crypt that one of my ancestors built for him to have some meditations, or at least that is what is documented of the place since the information is a bit vague and nobody really knows what he used to do down there. The crypt is large enough to be used as a royal bed chamber and its entrance is somewhere near the cliffs close to the beach and coast, way south from here.
Inside there are several pillars where people could hide so I don't see any inconvenience with going as a full team and once we are inside, we leave some of us hidden in the shadows, but we have to take into account that he expects a team so we would have to meet up with at least three more besides me so it is credible."
-Reyla, I will ask you to stay behind.- the redhead added.- You also had qualities of a watcher so you could warn us.-
-Please tell me that we are within range this time...- Reyla sighed in return.-
Kiara nodded before Freya raised a hand with confusion to interrupt any further distribution.
-Would you mind explaining your scale thing again? -she inquired as she lowered her head.- I am just not used to communicating at all, especially in code.-
-A summary would suffice? - asked Jasper in return.- And Freya, there really is no reason to be ashamed of it, we can communicate with each other because someone was crazy enough to actually track down a two-metres-lizard that can electrify beings.-
-It wasn't fun.- agreed Liam as his gaze got lost as he delved into his memories.- I still have nightmares...-
They all laughed before Jasper started with the summary.
