Not so far away, a red-headed teenager stood on top of a cliff watching the concentrated smoke underneath with a deep frown on her face the moment she heard a deep growl come from below.
-Seems like I am in the right place. - she said tiringly.-
Hurriedly she started dropping herself to the bottom of the cliffs quickly holding herself by an opening in the wall as she slowed down her fall to the protruding rock just above the pit that she immediately realised was a boneyard with an increasing fire on the surroundings. But what forced her to come up with a plan was the strange creature in the middle that was very obviously trying to hunt something down and no further away was her family's crest.
"How convenient." she thought when she quietly landed behind some bones. Just as she was about to grab the crest she noticed Liam struggling with a broken bone that he seemed to use as a spear, and although it was a sight to see, what drove her to grab another sharp bone and climb somewhere where she could land on top of the beast was his badly injured leg and the rock that was protecting him shattering at the force the feline was applying.
-Just die already! - Liam screamed with anger the moment he stabbed the beast in the neck.-
Taking it as a cue, Kiara threw herself on top of the beast and using her momentum she stabbed the beast on the neck, her bone obviously piercing it. Liam watched in disbelief how the beast tensed up and walked backwards before dropping to the floor agonising.
"There is no way that he can heal himself from that, but just what happened?" he thought confused until Kiara landed in front of him.
-You sure are an idiot. - she scolded him.-
Much to his astonishment, she started scolding him before he spoke amusedly.
-You know that I sort of expected a "Liam are you okay?". -he asked her with a grin.-
-I wouldn't ask that because you are obviously not. - she replied.- Can you walk?-
-Barely. - he said, now feeling his pain strike him.-
When Kiara watched his expression become grim, she bent down in front of him to inspect his injury. "I need to clean this up immediately." she thought and asked him to hop on her back.
A while later, Liam laid down on the border of the river, his left leg supported by a small rock while Kiara finished bandaging his calf with part of her shirt as his clothes were bloody and full of dirt.
-Tell me about your path, I had to dive on mine and it's also clear that it is the longest. - she said while tying a final strong knot on the improvised bandage.-
-I had to swim most of the way in mind, there were also occasional pieces of land where I rested.- he said frowning.- I did not have to dive though.-
-Since we cannot go through the sea, we will have to take your path.- she said placing him on her back once again.- Direct me to your camp, I will hunt something there fast and then we can leave.-
He nodded and started giving her directions. Once in his camp, she sat him down to do an inventory of their combined supplies while she hunted something that they could eat and easily carry along with some herbs that would help with his injury in the meantime.
While he explained to her the path he took to Genovy and how far the entrance was, he wonders how would she deal with an injured version of himself when she suddenly stood up and left for a couple of minutes coming back with wood.
-Let's make a small but sturdy raft. - she said while finishing to take off her shirt and tear it to shreds leaving her upper half in her undergarment.-
