"Took him a while to send us," Liam thought as he breathed heavily, grasping firmly the tree branch that he was supposed to climb. "Is this what Kiara struggles with during missions?"
It took him approximately ten minutes to fully climb the tree and he was now starting to feel vertigo, "This is awfully high" he gasped, scooting himself towards the sturdiest branch he could reach, trying to calm down before he had to run to the following tree from up there.
The situation made him feel as if he was a monkey -an awful one at it- since the training they were enduring that day consisted on treetop mobility, as they had to become stealthier and more agile at moving above the floor but him, being the person he was, felt safer on the ground so it was taking a lot of mindset and courage to even climb up there without any ropes.
Once again, he thought of his redhead teammate, who had already passed this test without any issues and was currently duelling with little Arya, something that was quite common between them as of lately. Before he could pity himself any further he heard a faint scream in the distance that sounded like Dante, "I don't even want to know what happened."
Bracing himself he took a deep breath and proceeded to jump from the branch he was standing to the nearest one, letting out himself a yell in the process.
-Do you think they will be fine? -Aryanna asked Kiara as she laid on the floor, unable to move her muscles.-
-Half of them yes.- Kiara giggled, moving to sit down in front of the energy drained girl.- I would worry more in yourself though.-
-I can't move anymore Ara.- the blonde muttered.-
-Fine.- Kiara scoffed.- but you need to work on your resistance.-
-Who would have thought that training with you would be this tiring? -the blonde mumbled.-
-Us.- said a man whom they recognised as Jasper.-
-Weren't you...- the redhead started asking before interrupting herself.- Oh.-
Standing in the entrance were the alphas, but instead of looking like the elite soldiers they were, they looked hilarious.
Dante's hair was messy, all over the place, and his lips were pale from the cold and had some cuts and bruises around his body, Stefan looked dead, his eyes reflected numbness and emptiness only caused by something that he had sub-estimated, Liam tried to look angry but his legs slightly shaking were not helping him and the funniest thing at all is that he looked as if he could not speak and as if he had hit himself with several objects on his way here.
The only ones who looked mildly decent were Reyla and Jasper, the first who looked exhausted but fine overall if you disregarded the small tree branches on her hair and the last who looked as if he had pushed himself a little further into his workout but overall fine.
When Arya finally managed to turn around and look at them, she let out a wheeze and started laughing, causing most of them to glare at her, and she was soon joined by Kiara who was also struck by the sight.
-If it provides you comfort, at least we know now how to navigate the forest.- she giggled.-
-Miss Mei, you have a message.- said a scout.-
Kiara frowned and thanked the guy and before she exited the room, she shot a glance at her members, indicating them to stay there while she checked out what the message said.
"Alpha,
It has been my knowledge that you and your team have mastered the forestal routes which is why I deem it opportune for you all to fully engage on your mission.
