-Are you sure you want to do this? - Dante tried to reason with Liam.-
-No.- he replied.-
The fact that the grey-eyed had denied his statement so surely freaked Dante more than if he had replied a hesitant affirmation instead.
-So we just... Boom? -the green-eyed asked warily.-
-Boom and run.- confirmed the grey-eyed.-
It was late at night, they had planned the whole evening after the overdue explanations from Liam and Kiara. They figured that, if they wanted to get inside without alarming their whole military, they would have to create a major disturbance that would not directly scream that they were being attacked - though they admitted that creating chaos would have been a splendid idea had they been on the surface- but it still had to be major if they wanted an opening for Kiara and Freya, both of which were agile and had memorized the structure, to enter without issues.
Stefan would be working alongside Reyla to deactivate any defence mechanism that might arise while the remaining females were inside; Jasper, just for this once, would be support ready to engage in whatever situation he might be required to save anyone.
But all seven of them knew that after they retrieve the intel they would have to scatter and if they were busted, they would have to escape immediately and without hesitations. Just in case they were trapped, they had agreed to share their findings through their communication system so at least someone could generate a report and inform Nova of everything.
"Can ever things be easy for us?" wondered Dante as he hid within the crowd that had gathered to extinguish the roaring flames from the bar in front of the Fortress. Reason being? They were scared that the fire might bring repercussions to the citadel and they were also worried about the owner of such a delightful bar that even the soldiers and guards attended.
He had lost Liam in the middle of the commotion and had no means to find him without causing suspicions from the alarmed guards that were just arriving on the scene. He was proud of something though, it was obvious why Liam and him were the team's Distractors, nobody could have done such wonderful job at creating a scene that did not ring any alarm or suspicion that caused people to believe that they were being attacked, and from the 7 of them they were the least obvious, or at least Liam who actually had Novack blood but both of them had Rheani body-proportions.
-Such a shame right? -said somebody besides him causing him to flinch.-
The dark-haired boy seemed familiar but Dante was sure that he had never seen him.
-Mikhail.- said the boy whom Dante was sure he could not be older than thirteen.- You seem lost and I don't recall ever seeing you here.-
-Dante, there you are.- said Liam, acting as if he had lost Dante just for some seconds.- I am so sorry sir, my friend is just half asleep.-
-Sir..? Oh.- Dante acted as if he had just woken up fully, though Liam's excuse was terrible.- I am so sorry sir, I should have known who was I speaking to.-
-Relax it is not as if I am seen often.- the boy shrugged.- Do you know what else could be worse besides a Novack accompanied by a Volstok? To actually be a combination of them both.-
Though Liam did not showcase it fully, Dante knew that he had become uncomfortable at the boy's revelation, and though Dante was not entirely sure, he felt as if the boy knew that they were intruders which lead him to ask himself, "why has he not reported us yet?"
-Sir, Lady Ilsa has been looking for you.- scolded a guard.-
-Tell mother not to worry, I am in good hands, don't I? -the boy gestured towards them who looked at each other with slight anxiety.-
