She looked....so unlike herself. Watching her walk in, she didn't look around the room for me like she used to. I was always the first person she looked for. How could she let Nott off so easily? After all he did to her, how could she say she forgave him?
"Next to the stand is Draco Malfoy, also testifying against Theodore Nott." I stood up and met her eyes. For a moment I felt the love she had for me radiating off of her, then she looked away and was gone. Gone to bury her mother. Alone.
"Now mr Malfoy, do you forgive Mr Nott?"
I looked at him. The smug bastard looked happy that Belle had let him off so easily. I wanted to punch him, I wanted to kill him for fuck sake.
"No. No I don't. But do I think he should be forced to live with what he's done? Yes. So do I think he should go to Azkaban? No. That's too easy for him. Now I've got somewhere I need to be."
I walked out, ignoring the calls from the minister as I waved my wand, conjuring a single white rose into my hand.

She didn't care that she was dancing by herself, she was too drunk to care. I watched, as boys all around the room watched her, and I wanted to get up there and grab her waist, claiming her as mine. But I didn't. This was me turning over a new leaf, letting her move on, without me.
I caught her eye again as she drained the bottle, before she staggered, falling to the floor. Everyone continued dancing, like no one noticed at all. As if by instinct I got up, and grabbed her, she was lighter than I remembered, she'd lost a lot of weight. I carried her into the dorm, as she wrapped her arms around my neck. It felt nice, having her back in my arms. I'd missed her. The way she looked, the way she smelt, the way her body perfectly fit with mine. She was starting to stir, her eyes opening slowly.
"Draco?" She slurred. She was still too drunk to know what was going on, so I didn't say anything. I set her down on the bathroom sink, holding her upright with one hand while I grabbed a cloth to wipe her head with cold water.
She giggled.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"Remember when we....you know....right on this sink?" She was laughing uncontrollably, not in control of what she was saying. I smiled a little, I missed her laugh.
"You know I haven't....been with anyone since you." She said again, looking at me intently now.
"Me neither." I sighed.
"Draco Malfoy hasn't had sex in a year? Scandal!"
"Noones worth my time."
"Right because...because you're mine." She hiccuped and then looked me right in the eyes. My heart fluttered. Her beautiful blue eyes. They melted me.
"Exactly that Belle."
"Belle. Noones called me that in a loooooooooong time." She swayed slightly on the sink and I had to use both hands to steady her.
"Look at you, always catching me when I fall."
"Come on you." I lifted her up again and carried her into the dorm, I couldn't take her back to Gryffindor tower like this.
"You know, you could do whatever you wanted to me right now and I wouldn't care. In fact, I'd like it." She sat up on the bed, holding onto my shirt, pulling me towards her. Just as our lips were about to touch mine I moved away, kissing her softly on the forehead.
"I'm not going to do anything while you're like this. I have too much respect for you Belle."
"Do you think we'd still be together if the war didn't happen?" She asked.
"I think you and me are a lot like Romeo and Juliet my darling. We're not destined to be together, no matter how much we love each other."
"Do you still love me?"
"I never stopped. Not for one moment. But I have to let you move on, I can't see you get hurt because of me anymore."
I handed her a jersey, but her eyes began to close again as she nestled into my sheets. Sighing softly, I pulled her towards me, her body limp with sleep and I unzipped her dress, looking away as I didn't feel like I deserved to see her body anymore. The one thing I did look at was her arm. The mark had faded just like mine, and I traced my finger over it softly.
"That tickles" she murmured.
"I'm so sorry for what I've done to you my darling girl" I whispered, pulling the jersey over her head and pulling the sheets over her.
I woke up early the next morning, having slept just a couple of hours after the party eventually ended. I peeked in the dorm, she was still fast asleep. I headed quietly to the empty potions classroom, using her own notes to brew a pepperup potion. I had made a vow to myself and my parents this year, I was going to work hard, and get myself into a good job after Hogwarts. I owed it to Belle to do it.
I headed back in just as she was stirring. She woke up, batting those blue eyes at me as she sat in my jersey, making my stomach stir with a mixture of emotions.
"Pepperup potion. You'll feel better." I watched as she examined the potion, giving an approving nod before drinking it.
Breathing deeply, I mustered up the courage to ask her the question that was playing on my mind.
"What do you remember from last night?"
