He was in the great hall, chatting away with Slughorn when he saw me. His face fell as he quietly excused himself and walked towards me. Draco's hand was intertwined with mine and I felt his grip tighten the closer he came.

"Victoria. Draco." He said as he reached us. He looked disheveled, a purple ring forming around his eye and I looked at Draco, who's jaw was clenched as he stared his father down.

"Lucius." I replied.

"Can we talk?....in private?" He asked me, eyeing Draco who didn't let go of my hand.

"Draco it's ok." I said, freeing myself from his grip.

"I'll be waiting. If you lay one finger on her I won't hesitate to give you another black eye" he sneered, and Lucius simply nodded, leading the way out into the courtyard.

"My son has quite the punch in him. Although I wish he wouldn't have done it in front of the whole school."

"Cant say I feel sorry for you."

"Of course."

"Why are you here Lucius? How dare you stand around acting like you haven't done anything, laying flowers down when you were on the side that got them killed in the first place."

"I came to tell you that I've turned myself in to the ministry for what I did to your father. My trial is tomorrow, but I think it's safe to say that I will be going to Azkaban for a long time. I just thought you'd want to know."

"Why now? Why after all this time?"

He paused, looking at the ground.

"Because meeting you changed everything. The moment I saw you all I could see was him. I never thought about how his family might feel about not getting the justice they deserve. Besides, my son hates me, my wife is probably only sticking by me for the sake of Draco, and I want him to have a better chance than I did. He doesn't need me, he never has. But you? He needs you."

"Thankyou." Was all I could choke out.

"Draco won't talk to me, will you tell him something for me?"

"Sure."

"Tell him that I'm proud of him."

And with that, Lucius Malfoy walked away without saying another word.

Draco was by my side in an instant, pulling me to his chest as I wrapped my arms around him.

"How was it?"

"He's turning himself in. He's going to Azkaban."

"He's been in there so many times they might as well give him his own room. I have a feeling that he won't be coming out this time. Out of my life, our life, forever."

"He told me to tell you he was proud of you."

He chucked quietly.

"It's funny. Two years ago that would have meant everything to me, now I don't care. I'm making it my life's mission to not end up like him."

I pulled away from him to meet his eyes.

"You've already succeeded in that."

I felt his fingertips on my skin as he tilted my chin up towards him, our lips meeting. I snaked my arms around his neck as he pulled me closer to him. After a few seconds I pulled away, whispering "we're in the middle of the courtyard"

"Well then let's go somewhere more private" he said, taking my hand in his as he practically dragged me through the castle, dodging the crowds and heading in the direction of the dungeons.

"Potions classroom, always unlocked" he said as he turned the handle, dragging me inside and slamming the door shut behind us. I felt the cold stone of the wall against my back as Draco pinned me against it, his lips hungry against mine. His tongue found my own and he pulled me towards the nearest desk and lifted me effortlessly onto it. My hands reached for his tie as his undid my shirt, our bodies grinding against each other, desperate to be as close to each other as possible. Just as Draco had taken his own shirt off and was making his way down my body we suddenly heard Slughorns voice from down the corridor.

"Shit"

"SHIT"

The room was dark, and we fumbled around trying to find our clothes, giggling as we stumbled into desks and cauldrons.

Just as Slughorn opened the door we ran out, Draco shouting "SHE REALLY WANTED TO SHOW ME THIS NEW POTION SIR!" And we leant against the wall, laughing hysterically, a sweaty mess.

"Oh hello, what's been going on here then?" The unmistakable voice of Pansy Parkinson echoed through the corridor as she approached us.

"Just some potions practice" I said, before collapsing into a fresh fit of laughter.

"Nice tie Greewood" she said, pointing to the Slytherin tie that was around my neck. I looked up at Draco was hurriedly removing my Gryffindor tie from around his own neck, and grimacing.

"You look good as a Gryffindor, keep it on" I said, winking at him. He simply threw the tie at me and pulled me towards him by the Slytherin tie that was still around my neck.

"You look even better as a Slytherin."

"God you two are cringeeeeeeeee! Just seen Lucius, you got him good with that black eye Malfoy!" Pansy nodded approvingly.

"He had it coming."

"Hell yeah he did, but he's gone now, any more enemies you need to deal with today Greenwood or can we go get drunk now?" She said, throwing a bottle of fire whiskey at me.

"For the first time ever I have absolutely no enemies to deal with. So let's get drunk." I took a long gulp from the bottle, feeling the burn as it hit the back of my throat, and handed it to Draco who did the same.

We spent the evening watching the sunset from the black lake, reminiscing about the war.

"If you would have told me two years ago I'd be sat here drinking with Harry Potter I would have taken you to St Mungo's!" Pansy said.

"And if you would have told me two years ago I'd still be alive now I would have done the same!" He replied.

"How does it feel, not having someone trying to kill you 24/7 Potter?"

"It's weird to say, but I actually miss fighting for my life every day."

"Well if you want I can always try and kill you."

"Pansy Parkinson, I thought you'd never offer."

I watched my classmates laughing and joking together and smiled to myself. We never thought this would happen, yet here we are, laughing about the past while thinking about our futures.

"Galleon for your thoughts?" Draco asked, his arm around my shoulder.

"I'm just....happy."

"Me too."
