William shook his head in understanding. "I know, but he's not dead yet. Everything can change. You also need to take care of yourself. You've lost a lot of weight, and it won't help him if you do this to yourself."

She rested her head in her hands, deep in thought. Suddenly, they heard commotion in the hallway, and they saw Michael's nurse and doctor rushing into his room. Lisa jumped to her feet and ran to his room, but they sternly told her to leave, explaining that they were performing resuscitation. Terrified for his life, she was physically pushed out of the room, the doors shutting behind her.

Lisa slumped to the floor in the hallway, her head spinning. She struggled to breathe, feeling a heavy weight on her chest as she began to lose touch with reality.

William rushed to her side and sought help from one of the male nurses. They quickly took her to a room and administered sedatives to help calm her down. William remained with her in silence.

Lisa sat in a chair, staring blankly at the wall. Janet eventually entered the room. "We spoke with the doctor, and he said you should go home and rest. You can't be here every day."

Lisa glanced at William and then back at Janet. "But what about Michael? Is he—"

Janet signaled for William to leave. He nodded and quietly exited the room, leaving them alone.

"Lisa, he's alive. Just try to calm down. We were all worried, but my parents are speaking with his doctor. From what I know, he had a collapse because of his low blood pressure, and even the respirator is struggling to keep him stable."

Lisa slowly stood up, battling a growing headache. "I understand. So your parents are talking to his doctor now?" Janet nodded.

"Okay, can we go there, then?"

Janet looked hesitant. "I don't think you should—"

Lisa sighed and walked towards the door. "Are you coming or not?"

Janet relented and walked her to the doctor's office. The doctor seemed surprised to see Lisa.

"Mrs. Jackson, I thought you were told to go home?" he said.

Lisa glanced at Michael's parents and then back at the doctor. "Yes, I was told that, but I just want to know what's happening with my husband." She took another chair and sat down.

The doctor explained the situation. "Well, as I informed Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, Michael had a circulation and respiratory collapse. The respirator is functioning, for now, he is stable enough, but we don't know if he'll be strong enough to wake up." His voice remained calm.

Lisa's thoughts whirled, and she noticed Katherine and Joseph Jackson asking more questions, which reduced them both to tears.

A few minutes later, Lisa left the office. The paparazzi were swarming the area, eager for any information about the owner of the largest company in New York. She ignored their questions and quickly drove back home.

As Lisa entered her apartment, her phone began to ring. She assumed it was a call from the hospital but was taken aback when she heard Daniel's voice on the other end.

"What's going on, Daniel?" she asked, sitting down on the couch, weary from the day's events.

"Can you come over? I need to talk to you," Daniel said, his voice filled with urgency.

Lisa furrowed her brow. "Right now? It's six in the evening. You weren't at the hospital, and you're not in the office?"

Daniel hesitated for a moment. "I was at work today, but I—can you just come over? It's really important."

Lisa massaged her temples, her headache returning. After a brief pause, she agreed, "Alright, give me ten to fifteen minutes, and I'll be there." She slowly stood up.

"Great, thanks. See you soon," Daniel said before ending the call.

Lisa kept her word and arrived at Daniel's place. She rang the doorbell and waited for him to answer.

Daniel opened the door and gestured for her to come inside. "Thank you for coming," he said.

Lisa walked straight into the living room. "I'm here to listen to what you have to say," she replied. She turned her back to him as she began to arrange her things on the couch.

Unexpectedly, Daniel reached for her cheeks and kissed her. Lisa pulled away, visibly displeased. "Daniel, what the hell are you doing?" She rubbed her lips, feeling disgusted.

Daniel appeared confused. "I thought that if you came here—"

Lisa looked at him with a mix of confusion and anger. "Then what? We were going to have sex? I don't feel anything towards you. I have a husband who's dying, and you didn't even come to see him, not even once!" she said, her frustration evident.

Daniel ran a hand through his hair, exhaling in embarrassment. "I... I-" he stutters.

Lisa swiftly takes her belongings and leaves, slamming the door behind her. She got into her car, screeching the tires as she drove away.

Lisa cruised through the city, trying to collect her thoughts. Eventually, she found herself at the hospital and entered Michael's room. She sat by his bedside, gently touching his hand and looking at him with tears in her eyes.

"If you could just wake up," she whispered to herself. "Don't leave me." Her voice trembled as she held his hand, praying for a miracle.

Lisa stood up and gently kissed Michael's forehead. As she did, the monitor emitted a beeping sound, prompting a nurse to enter the room. The nurse checked the monitor and made some adjustments, silencing the beeping.

"Mrs. Jackson, Dr. Harris has decided to try to wake him up, and his parents have agreed, but they also wanted to know what you think," the nurse explained.

Lisa looked at the nurse and then at Michael. "When are they planning to do it?"

The nurse moved towards the door. "They're ready to proceed now. His blood pressure has just improved, so it's a good sign. We should try now because things can change quickly."

Lisa took a moment to consider and then nodded. "Okay," she said, her voice trembling with both hope and anxiety.

The nurse acknowledged her decision and left her alone with Michael. She sank into a chair, exhaustion weighing her down after the emotionally draining day.

A short while later, the doctor entered the room accompanied by two nurses. One nurse made notes, while the other provided updates on the cardiac monitor.

"Okay, as you and his parents have decided, we'll attempt to wake him from the coma. We won't administer any medication until tomorrow morning. There's still a possibility of complications, so we'll continue monitoring his heart rate and circulation," the doctor explained in a calm tone. He discreetly tucked his pen back into his pocket. "Ma'am, you should go rest and return tomorrow morning. Tomorrow is a very importing day and you should be rested."

Lisa looked at Michael, then at the doctor, and finally, gave him a sad smile. She left the room, keeping her eyes fixed on her husband as she leaves.
