The following morning, Priscilla arrived at the hospital after receiving a call from Michael. He had been sitting by Lisa's side through the night, unable to sleep due to the intense emotions they had experienced the day before. Lisa, still recovering from the previous day's ordeal, was holding Michael's hand in her sleep.

Priscilla gently knocked on the door before entering, and she could see that Michael seemed somewhat at peace, sitting by Lisa's side.

"Hey, Michael, how is she?" Priscilla asked as she took a seat.

Michael sighed, his gaze fixed on his wife. "Um, not good."

Priscilla nodded with understanding. "I hope you guys will still come to California, even if she won't attend the meeting."

Michael looked at Lisa and replied, "I think it's her decision whether she wants to go or not. She's a fighter and very stubborn, so even though we've suffered this loss, I'm sure she won't want to show that anything is wrong."

Priscilla raised an eyebrow. "You can't know that for sure."

Michael sighed again, and Lisa stirred in her bed, her eyes slowly opening. She looked at Michael and smiled slightly when he greeted her with a kiss on the lips.

"Good morning, darling," he whispered to her, making her smile.

Lisa sat up with some pain in her abdomen and noticed that her mother was in the room, giving her a small smile.

"Hello, Lisa."

Surprised by her mother's presence, Lisa asked, "Hi, what are you doing here?"

Michael explained, "I told her what happened, and that's why she's here."

Lisa looked at Michael and held his hand. "Okay, mother, I will still attend the meeting anyway, so-"

"I don't think it's a good idea..." Priscilla began, with concern in her voice.

Lisa's lips curled slightly in defiance, and Michael bit his lip, contemplating whether he should say something.

"Mother, I can't stay at home. I'd rather not think about anything else right now, and focus on more important things" she said with determination.

Priscilla sighed and glanced at Michael. "You were right, she's stubborn."

Lisa then looked at her husband, who smiled gently. "What?" she squinted her eyes at him.

"What?" Michael chuckled, and Lisa playfully poked him in the ribs, making him jump. "Stooop it," he laughed.

Priscilla stood up. "I'll go. See you in the office then," she said, bidding them both goodbye.

As she left, Michael looked at his wife, who had grown unusually quiet. He knew she wouldn't be okay for a long time and was attempting to hide her pain. But they were both hurting, and it was a challenge they needed to face together.

After two days, they found themselves in California. Lisa was preparing to return to work, while Michael waited for her, insisting on driving her to the company to avoid unnecessary stress making his best to control both businesses in New York.

Michael gently knocked on the bathroom door, calling out, "Honey, it's time to go. Hurry up a little."

Lisa left the bathroom, turning off the light. "I'm ready. We can go," she said, taking her purse.

He helped her into her coat, and they made their way to company. Upon reaching the parking lot, he placed his hand on her lap, noticing the troubled expression on her face.
