The morning after the unsettling incident with Luke, Lisa felt a bit better, though her mental state remained somewhat shaken. She sat down on the couch with Michael, and while she had improved from the previous day, she was still dealing with lingering emotions. She experienced a mix of feelings, including shock, unease, and vulnerability. Lisa sought solace and support in Michael's company, as they discussed the events and her ongoing recovery.

"I was thinking about it the whole night, and I believe the best thing to do is to go to the police. I'll understand if you say no, but I think it's the right thing to do," she says, accepting the cup of tea that Michael offers her, and sitting beside him.

Michael nods in agreement. "I think it's the right decision, too."

Lisa shakes her head, determined. "I want to go, Michael. I know I'm not the only one. The worst part is that some of those women didn't speak up due to fear. This guy is an asshole who thinks he can do whatever he wants. He was inappropriate with me before, but I didn't want to say anything." Lisa hesitated, then began to speak. "It all started innocently enough, you know, with casual comments and inappropriate jokes that just made me feel really uneasy. Over time, things escalated. He began to cross personal boundaries, invading my personal space, and making unsolicited advances. Hopefully some of those women will come forward, and I hope they'll lock this guy up in jail."

Michael walks over to her and kisses her forehead. "I'm really proud of you, babe."

Lisa looks into his eyes, her voice filled with conviction. "I'm just doing what's right."

A knock on the door interrupts their conversation, and they both know it's Janet, who mentioned she'd come over to stay with Lisa.

Michael kisses Lisa's cheek. "Are you sure you want me to go to work?"

Lisa smiles. "Well, I'd prefer to have you here, but I know you need to work too."

He gives her one last affectionate smile before leaving for work.

Janet walks in, closing the door behind her. "How is my favorite person doing today?"

Lisa smiles weakly, holding her temples due to a headache. "It could be better. I feel like somebody hit my head with a pan."

Janet heads to the kitchen, rummaging through the cabinets. "What are you doing, Janet?"

"Well, my brother needs to have something for a headache, right?" Janet continues to search for a medical box.

Lisa raises an eyebrow. "Don't be ridiculous. Your brother spends more time at work than at this house, so I don't know if he even has something like that."

Janet looks at her and insists, "Hey, you're still talking about my brother. Sometimes he might be dumb, but he's still my brother!" They both share a brief laugh before continuing.

"But still, I'm not joking. He literally doesn't spend that much time at his own house," Lisa explains. Janet seems to understand and takes a box of medication out from a lower cabinet.

Lisa notices Janet's struggle to find painkillers for her headache and takes over the search. She finds a box of pills, swallows it with a sip of tea.

Janet smiled and poured herself some tea, taking a seat beside Lisa. "Maybe getting married would change things. By the way, did you two discuss kids and marriage?"

Lisa sighed, her expression less than enthusiastic. "He asked me to move in."

Janet's smile brightened. "And did you say yes?"

However, Lisa's demeanor remained serious. "There's an issue. I was supposed to tell him yesterday, but my boss decided to do what he did, causing me to lose my job. I also need to go to the police to report him and create a file."

Lisa shrugged and rose from her seat, placing the tea cap on the counter while crossing her arms. "At some point, the back-and-forth between our apartments just feels weird, but I honestly don't know how to start the conversation about it, especially not after what happened."

Janet took a sip of her tea and offered some advice. "You should try talking to him today because I know he'll want you to be here. Now, let's go to the police station. I'm your witness, and later, Michael will provide his account of the story. Michael, as Luke's sponsor, knows a bit more."

Lisa agreed, saying, "Alright, let me go change." She walked into the bedroom, closing the door behind her to prepare.

After giving their statements at the police station, the officers inform Lisa and Janet that they'll need to wait for more details until the investigators will collect further evidence and verify if their testimony aligns with the actual events.

Upon their return to Lisa's apartment, he is already waiting for them.

"How are you feeling? You and Janet were at the police station?"

She shakes her head. "Yeah, they asked if you could come to see them tomorrow. They said we need to wait for their investigation and maybe they'll conduct a hearing involving Luke and people from his firm. I'm worried that those people might lie, especially if they were paid off or something."

Michael kisses her on the head. "Don't think that way, baby. I'll do everything I can to ensure that all those women get the justice they deserve, including you. I just can't believe he did that to you. Thankfully, Janet came at the right time because it could have ended up worse."

"I know, because it could have ended up worse. Janet saved me, and I'm really grateful for what she did. Michael, I want to ask you something, or actually, ans—"

Their conversation is abruptly interrupted by a doorbell ringing and loud knocks at the door. Both of them exchange a confused look. Michael stands up and tells Lisa to wait where she is, but, as usual, she doesn't listen and goes with him to the door.

The person behind the door leaves Lisa in a state of shock.
