Michael and Lisa walked into the office building to meet Priscilla. They encountered the secretary, a striking blonde with blue eyes who couldn't help but steal glances at Michael. He, however, remained oblivious to her attention, offering only a polite smile.
Lisa noticed the secretary's behavior, but wisely chose to say nothing. She knew her mother's secretary was not to blame for her behavior.
Priscilla approached them with a welcoming smile. "Oh, Lisa, I was waiting for you!" she greeted, her attention focused on her daughter while largely ignoring Michael. "Come with me; we're going to talk about business. Let's go to my office."
Lisa, taken aback by her mother's lack of attention to her husband, placed her hand on Michael's arm and replied, "Well, I didn't know you had a company over here too."
"Yes, dear, I just opened another firm here. Oh, no. He is staying here; he is an outsider to me," Priscilla clarified before heading to her office.
Michael arched an eyebrow and glanced at Lisa, expressing his frustration. "Or maybe you just don't like me," he muttered.
Lisa noticed the secretary's interest in her husband and whispered to him, "This girl will devour you if I leave."
Michael looked at the secretary, sensing something familiar about her but shaking off the thought as he gazed at Lisa, who he affectionately kissed. "Don't you worry about it," he reassured her with a smile before she proceeded to her mother's office.
The secretary, somewhat embarrassed, shifted her attention back to her computer. Meanwhile, Lisa walked into her mother's office, leaving Michael sitting in an armchair with an impatient demeanor as he tapped his foot.
Their visit to Priscilla's office seemed destined for more complications and surprises.
Lisa closed the office door behind her and took a seat in front of Priscilla, who sat behind her office desk. She placed a briefcase filled with files on the desk and began sorting through them.
Looking at Lisa over the papers, Priscilla explained, "Well, because you have 90% of the company, and your sponsors own the remaining 10%, you need to attend a meeting in California next week."
Lisa frowned, feeling caught off guard. "You didn't inform me about this part. If I'm going to represent the company, I need the complete list of our sponsors. I don't want to appear ignorant about our firm and its sponsors."
Priscilla smiled, stood up, and walked over to the window, gazing at the view before turning back to Lisa. "Well, you already know one of your sponsors..."
Lisa furrowed her brow, wondering if her mother was referring to herself. "I didn't know you were a sponsor while you were the owner all this time."
Priscilla walked up to Lisa, placing her hand on her arm and looking into her eyes. "Yes, I was sponsoring your dad's firm, just as Michael was sponsoring yours. However, that doesn't change the fact that there's someone else as well. Now, go. I have a meeting to attend shortly."
Leaving her mother's office, Lisa walked out of the firm, expecting to find Michael waiting for her. However, he was nowhere to be seen. The secretary, Jennifer, stood up and approached Lisa.
"I assume you're Lisa? I'm Jennifer. You probably haven't heard about me, but I used to be Michael's girlfriend," she introduced herself, offering a gentle smile.
Lisa, baffled by her words, thought about where Michael could have gone. "Did my husband leave?" she asked, emphasizing the word "husband."
Jennifer nodded gently. "It was nice meeting you, Lisa," she said, her expression somewhat strange, before walking away.
Lisa left the building and found Michael sitting in the car, lost in thought. She got in the car and asked, "Why did you leave?" while looking at him. Michael started the car and drove out of the parking lot, ignoring her.
"So, now we're playing the ignoring game?" Lisa inquired.
Michael remained silent as he drove her to her apartment. Lisa glanced at the building, perplexed about why he had brought her there. He didn't look at her, waiting for her to exit the car.
Growing increasingly frustrated with his behavior, Lisa left the car without saying a word. As she walked towards the building, she couldn't help but feel anger.
When Lisa reached her apartment, she approached the front door, only to discover that it wasn't even locked. A sense of unease crept over her, and she cautiously entered, unsure of what she might find. She stepped inside and began to explore the rooms, looking for any signs of an intruder or disturbance, but the place appeared empty. She locked the door behind her and decided to tidy up her home, her mind preoccupied with Michael's strange behavior.
As she cleaned, Lisa noticed an envelope hidden beneath her belongings that had been scattered on the floor. Curiosity piqued, she opened it and found a series of pictures. Her heart sank as she looked at the images, all of them featuring her and Michael in various locations, seemingly taken from concealed vantage points. To her shock and dismay, there was even a picture of an intimate moment between them.
Lisa's breath caught in her throat as she realized that there must be hidden cameras throughout her apartment. Overwhelmed by a mixture of anger, fear, and violation, she immediately contacted the police. They arrived promptly and conducted a thorough search, uncovering multiple concealed cameras strategically placed around her apartment.
The realization of her privacy being invaded left a painful knot in Lisa's stomach. She felt violated, unsafe, and utterly confused. Uncertain about what to do next, she decided to go to Michael's place to confront him about the disturbing discovery. When she arrived at his apartment, she knocked on the door, but he didn't answer. Frustrated and desperate for answers, Lisa returned to her car and drove to Michael's firm, hoping to find him there.
