It had been four days since the argument, and neither of them had reached out to each other. Michael believed that Lisa needed some time to cool off, while she couldn't bear to look at him, her heart shattered into pieces.

When Michael returned home from work, he found Janet sitting on the couch, she was furious. As he entered, she stood up and rushed over to him.

"Michael, are you out of your mind?!" Janet yelled at her brother.

He looked at her in confusion, taking off his coat and moving to sit on the couch. "What?" he asked.

"Lisa finally told me what happened. Of course, I had to pry it out of her, and you didn't pick up the phone, as usual."

"So you know she's pregnant, too," Michael replied. Janet rolled her eyes, heading to the bathroom, which only puzzled him further.

Janet rummaged through a cabinet, retrieving a pregnancy test, and threw it at Michael. "Yes, I know, and I accused her of the same crap you did! She was showing symptoms while you were nearly dying in the hospital. Before you open your mouth about cheating and betrayal, go talk to Daniel and ask him why he didn't come to see you when Lisa was there, practically looking like a zombie," Janet scolded him.

Michael's eyes widened as he processed this information, but he decided to address another topic first. "What does Daniel have to do with this? What do you mean about asking Daniel about cheating and betrayal? At least he was looking after the company."

Janet threw her hands up in frustration. "Damn it, Mike! You always think with your dick and not with your brain. Daniel didn't come to the hospital because he didn't want to see Lisa crying over you. Let's be honest. Daniel had his eye on her long before you two got together, and he looked at her like he wanted to devour her. Do you get it now? Lisa didn't do anything wrong. Daniel did, by trying to steal your wife from you."

Michael stared at her, incredulous after hearing this. "That's not possible. He wouldn't do that to me," he protested, heading to the kitchen.

Janet replied sarcastically, "So your wife is more likely to cheat on you than your dear Daniel?"

Michael looked at her and sighed after a moment of thought. "Maybe you're right, but I don't think she'll listen."

"Well, given what I heard you said to her, you shouldn't be surprised," Janet pointed out, taking a seat on the couch.

"Can you take me to her? I'll try to talk to her," Michael requested.

Janet agreed, and she drove him to Lisa's house. As he stood in front of the door in the apartment building, he felt anxious. He unbuttoned his first shirt button and knocked on the door three times, waiting for her to answer.

To his surprise, someone other than Lisa opened the door.

"What do you want, Michael?" Priscilla's voice was cold as ice, but Michael didn't respond immediately, trying to gather his thoughts before speaking.

"Let him in," Lisa's voice came from the living room, where she sat on the couch under a blanket.

Priscilla felt torn, but eventually decided to open the doors wide and allowed him inside before closing them behind him.

The room was littered with papers, a pen, and a sense of tension. He took a seat next to Lisa, his gaze fixed on the documents scattered before her.

Lisa glanced at her mother, who returned the look. "Just go home, Mother. I'll send you these papers tomorrow morning." Priscilla nodded and left, closing the door behind her.

Michael's eyes remained fixed on the papers, and he slowly realized what they were. "So you've taken over your father's company, and you didn't tell me anything?" His tone was a mix of surprise and hurt.

Lisa swiftly gathered the papers, hiding them in a briefcase. "Don't you think you had a lot of time to process things and simply talk with me? I mean, like few days ago?" She looked at him, waiting for his reaction.

"I didn't, and because of my stupidity and pride, I'm going to lose you," he admitted, his voice filled with regret. "Also, your mother knows about—"

"Of course she does. What else was I supposed to do?" Lisa's frustration was evident. "I left because you couldn't just listen. I didn't cheat on you." She stood up, walked to the bookcase, and retrieved a small item from one of the books. Placing it on the table, it became clear it was an ultrasound picture of their child. "I went to the hospital two days ago."

Michael looked at the ultrasound and was flooded with a memory of the argument they'd had in the car about having a child and her mother. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he looked at Lisa and then back at the picture of their child.

Lisa sat beside him, silent but supportive. As he wiped his tears away, he knew it was his fault that everything had unraveled in this way. He turned to her, his eyes filled with remorse.

"So you want to move out of New York?" he asked, his voice heavy with concern.

Lisa shook her head. "I don't want to, but I think I need to." She looked into his eyes, searching for answers.

He leaned closer to her, his voice filled with vulnerability, "Do you still trust me? Do you still believe that I love you?"
