Lisa woke up, her hand instinctively reaching for Michael, but only cold sheets greeted her touch. A sense of emptiness settled over her as she stood up, grabbing her robe and leaving the bedroom.

As she entered the living room, the sight of Janet and Michael eating breakfast in silence caught her off guard. The atmosphere was heavy with unspoken tension, and Lisa couldn't ignore the palpable distance between them.

"Morning," Lisa greeted, her voice breaking the silence. Janet looked up, a brief acknowledgment in her eyes, while Michael kept his gaze fixed on his plate. The weight of the unspoken lingered in the air, and Lisa wondered how they would navigate through the challenges that lay ahead.

Janet's actions broke the uneasy silence, and she stood up with her plate, heading to the sink. "I was about to wake you up; I'll make you some food," she said with a reassuring tone.

Lisa nodded gratefully, watching Janet move around the kitchen. She couldn't help but feel a mix of gratitude and guilt for the support Janet was offering. Turning her attention to Michael, who continued to ignore her, Lisa sighed, realizing the depth of the rift between them.

The air in the room hung heavy with unspoken words and unresolved issues, leaving Lisa contemplating how to bridge the gap that had grown overnight.

Janet handed Lisa a plate filled with food and a cup of tea, a comforting gesture that spoke volumes in the midst of the strained atmosphere. Lisa offered a small, appreciative smile before taking a hesitant bite.

As Janet settled beside her, there was a shared understanding between them that transcended words. They both knew the challenges Lisa and Michael were facing, and Janet's silent support brought a sense of solace.

Meanwhile, Michael stood up abruptly, leaving his plate in the sink without a word. His departure added to the tension in the room, leaving Lisa and Janet in a silence.

Lisa took a thoughtful sip of tea before breaking the silence. "So, he was like that the whole morning?" she asked, her eyes searching for any sign of understanding in Janet's expression.

Janet nodded solemnly, her gaze reflecting concern. "He didn't say a word to me, just the occasional nods or shaking his head. It's like he's in his own world right now. I might have to scratch his ego a bit in the evening. About that, I'm sorry for the whole thing, but my brother can be a complete idiot sometimes." She sighed, acknowledging the complexities of dealing with Michael's emotions.

Lisa looked at Janet with a understanding. "It's okay, don't take his moods too seriously. He's probably madder at me than at you," she said, trying to ease any lingering discomfort between them.

Janet returned a small smile, grateful for Lisa's understanding. As they sat, Janet pondered whether she should broach the topic of Lisa's phone call from the night before, or if it was best to leave it untouched for now. The delicate balance between addressing the issues at hand and giving them space to breathe weighed on her mind. Janet, observing the delicate atmosphere, decided to let it linger a bit longer before delving into the unspoken aspects of the previous night. However, as Lisa finished her meal and prepared to start washing the dishes, Janet intervened.

"I will do it. Try to speak to my brother," Janet insisted, taking charge of the situation. The unspoken tension in the room seemed to intensify, and Lisa hesitated for a moment, grateful for Janet's willingness to step in.

Nodding in appreciation, Lisa handed the dishwashing responsibilities to Janet and took a deep breath, preparing herself to address the underlying issues with Michael. The weight of the unspoken hovered in the air as Janet moved to the sink, and Lisa knew that a crucial conversation awaited her, she went to check on Michael who ended up being in the bedroom. Packing himself up,

"What are you doing?" Lisa asked, her brows furrowing as she observed Michael's actions.

He looked at her, taking a deep breath before explaining, "I will go back to New York. I have a meeting at my company, and I might also check on what's happening at yours to make sure everything is going well."

She blinks at him as if the information can't be taken by her "So you will leave especially when we know that Luke is on our ass? If you have a problem with me, just tell me we can talk it out."

Michael keeps on putting clothes to his bag " Well I can ask the same question if you have a problem, since you were not very nice-nice, when I tried to help you."

Lisa, frustration evident in her expression, walked up to Michael, attempting to stop him by holding his shoulder. However, he shook off her touch.

"Michael, you can't say that and just leave like that," Lisa asserted, her voice tinged with frustration. "But you are right, and I'm sorry. Although, you also were doing questionable things, and some of them weren't even spoken about. I'm trying to make it better, but after everything that has happened, it's hard, don't you think?" she asked, her emotions raw and upset.

"I can actually," Michael replied, zipping his bag and walking towards the door. Lisa stood in front of the closed doors, determined to stop him.

"So, you will leave me for my mood, but when you kiss your ex, I have to forgive you or actually shake it off and ignore it?" Lisa questioned, her voice laden with pain.

Michael rolled his eyes, frustration evident in his expression. "When Daniel was trying to get to you, I took actions to make it better. So, don't you dare call me out on things that I stopped from happening," he retorted, his own emotions running high in the tense exchange.

"Stopped from happening? Do you hear yourself? Don't make yourself out to be a hero," Lisa said, anger coursing through her as she threw her hands up in frustration.

Michael, his anger reaching its peak, put his bag down forcefully. "Oh, so now you're defending him?!" he yelled, the frustration evident in his voice.

"Don't yell at me!" she shouts at him, "You ruined his life, Michael!"

Michael scoffed, the frustration evident in his tone. "You're defending him!" The room pulsed with the intensity of their exchange, the unresolved issues surfacing with each word.

Lisa looks at him with a cold face, "Even if? Then what?" she stares at him dead in the eyes,

"Then we have nothing to talk about." he grabs his bag and walks past Lisa opening the door leaving the bedroom.

Lisa follows him "So since we are so open about things admit that you thought about me cheating while you were in damn hospital and I had child with him, just admit at least that."

"Yes! I did and right now I'm actually sure of it!" he yells outrageously.

Janet, hearing the escalating argument, tried to intervene before things got worse. However, before she could, Lisa erupted with overwhelming emotions. "Fucking leave then, and don't you dare come back! I will manage without you!" she yelled, her voice filled with anger and hurt as Michael left, slamming the doors behind him.

Janet stared at Lisa, shock etched across her face. Lisa, tears streaming down her cheeks, looked back at her sister-in-law with a mix of sorrow and frustration. "You also want to add something that will make my day better?" she said before leaving for the bedroom.

Left in the aftermath of the heated exchange, Janet stood there, torn between going after Michael and trying to console Lisa. The weight of the situation hung heavy in the air, leaving her uncertain of the best course of action.
