The following day, the senior staff gathered in the conference room, the air thick with anticipation. David stood at the head of the table, his presence commanding and authoritative. To his right sat Lou Henley-Smith, meticulously organizing the meeting's agenda. Greg Wilhere, Jenny Linson, and Warren McShane were seated nearby, each prepared to offer their expertise.

"Let's get started," David began. "We need to discuss our approach with Lisa Marie and ensure everything is in place for her integration into the church."

Greg Wilhere leaned forward. "I've reviewed potential mentors, David. We have a few seasoned auditors who could be a good match for Lisa."

"Excellent," David replied. "Jenny, make sure these mentors are briefed on Lisa's background and prepared for any questions she might have."

Jenny Linson nodded. "I'll handle that, David. We'll make sure she's paired with someone who can guide her effectively."

"Tommy Davis has also provided his input," Lou interjected. "He's suggested we include more interactive sessions to engage her interest and provide a comprehensive understanding of our practices."

David considered this. "Good idea. Let's implement that. Warren, ensure all legal aspects are covered, especially given Lisa's profile. We need to be prepared for any external scrutiny or media attention."

Warren McShane nodded. "I'll take care of it, David. All necessary measures will be in place."

---------------

A few weeks had passed, and still, there was no word from Michael, nor had Lisa reached out to him. With Daniel now on her team, Lisa felt that Michael had gotten the message loud and clear: she didn't need him at her company. At least, that's what she thought. As she delved deeper into Scientology, she began to recognize more of his toxic behaviors, which only added to her determination to distance herself from him.

Today she's going to have her first auditing session at the church. A step she hoped would help her confront her dark past with Michael, Luke, her miscarriage, the challenges with her company, and everything else that had been weighing on her mind for years.

As she parked her car outside the church, a sense of nervousness washed over her, reminiscent of the feeling she used to get before taking exams in school. "Calm down," she whispered to herself as she stepped out of the car and headed to the building.

Lisa walked through the hallway, her eyes landing on a familiar face: Danny. He stood near one of the auditing rooms, the same one she was supposed to enter.

"Hey there, long time no see. How's your OT going?" he asked with genuine interest.

Lisa offered a small smile. "We'll see. I'm not entirely sure yet."

Danny nodded, understanding. "First time, huh? It's normal to feel nervous. I've heard a lot about you in the past few weeks. You've been diving into the basics like your life depended on it. I thought you were going to surpass me in my OT."

Lisa chuckled, a sound she hadn't heard from herself in a while. "Doubt that. Aren't you at OT 4?"

"Wow, are you stalking me now?" Danny teased, raising his hands in mock defense, eliciting another laugh from Lisa, surprising even herself. "There it is, your laugh. Feels good, doesn't it?" he remarked, lightly touching her arm.

"I guess," Lisa replied, trying to deflect. "How long have you been here?"

Danny checked his watch. "About an hour. This woman in there is taking longer than a week. They must have found something interesting," he blurted out unintentionally.
