"my name is lee donghyuck! i moved here from jeju about two weeks ago with my dad and i'm super excited to meet you all!" he smiled, bouncing on his feet as everyone gawked over him
"okay donghyuck, could you please go and sit next to renjun - he can show you around and i'm sure you two will get along well," their teacher smiled, and donghyuck only nodded furiously, before sitting in the spare seat to the right of an adorable boy, who had cute soft pink wavy hair and big, doe eyes that made him internally uwu
"my name is huang renjun! it's nice to meet you," the boy smiled, donghyuck cooed at his cute voice
"i'm lee donghyuck! i'm a half-bred beta-omega!! what house are you in?! i'm in slytherin, but nobody believes it! what's your favourite colour? who's your favourite group?! do you like brownies? cookies? when were you born? you're so cute!" he began babbling as soon as renjun answered, earning happy giggles and a shy, wriggly puppy to blush at the last few words
"i-i'm a full-bred omega.. and u-uhm.." he was so nervous around donghyuck, failing to match his energy "you're cute too..?" donghyuck giggled
"i like you, junnie, i think you're gonna make my life more fun" renjun smiled, eyes twinkly
"really?!" the tanned boy hummed, nodding quickly
the two had talked all lesson happily, their teacher leaving them be as donghyuck was new, and when the day ended renjun was quick to hug donghyuck before waving as the latter ran off towards a car, getting in and blowing a kiss at the omega before he sped off
renjun pouted after realising that he had been waiting for ten whole minutes, and nobody was outside the school
he hadn't gotten any messages, though, but shrugged it off and began walking home
he took the alone time to think about the past few months - how meeting two people had changed his life so much, and even though bad things have happened, and he's found out some things that aren't necessarily good, he would never regret coming to know jeno and jaemin - if they suddenly disappeared one day, renjun was almost sure he wouldn't be able to live
who would kiss his forehead before he slept? who would cuddle him and make hot pot after his mum and brother refused to? who would hold his hand when he was nervous, or hold his hand just for the touch? who would settle him down after being riled up by his omega instincts, scenting him until he felt dozy but so calm and so safe?
the pure thought made renjun uncomfortable and upset, how these two people - who were strangers only months ago - made him feel as if he was the most important being in the world
he didn't know what he'd do if they were taken away from him, maybe he'd die on the spot.
