donghyuck smiled, bowing his head slightly towards jaemin before hugging renjun by his tiny waist and nuzzling his cheek against the smaller's earning little giggles
jaemin nodded, before kissing renjun's forehead and disappearing into a navy blue car, it speeding off as soon as the passenger door closed
"i'm so excited!!" donghyuck smiled wide, renjun nodded quickly before him and snuggling into the half-breed
"let's watch movies!"
the two had laid themselves on donghyuck's bedroom floor on top of some thick blankets, pillows tucked underneath them and a big tray of snacks on his little coffee table (that had been moved to the side so they could see)
renjun wriggled so he could lay his head on donghyuck's stomach, fiddling with the beta-omega's fingers before opening his mouth to speak
"how did you come to be here?" he asked, donghyuck breathed out, kind of expecting the question
"well, it's not a really long story - just kind of.. i don't know, unusual?" he began, his free hand tangled in renjun's soft pink hair
"i haven't had any real friends at all, and my mum left my dad a few weeks after i was born. he works all the time, well, he did. before we moved here i lived in a little run-down block where everybody did drugs, so of course i'd be joining in too, turns out i hid it well enough for my dad to never find out," he sighed, eyes watery, and smiled down at renjun as the omega wiped the few tears that already fell
"i was even doing drugs in school - smoking weed anywhere i could, doing heroine in the bathrooms and taking cocaine in the school's hall during lunch. it was the only way i could have some sort of 'friendship' with others, and it really ruined me.. my dad found out, eventually, and his old co-worker, choi byujin, had moved here with his son about five years ago, they were still in contact so here we are.. "
"i actually met his son- choi beomgyu, he's a bit odd," he paused upon feeling renjun tense on his lap
"he's not good"
"i know," donghyuck laughed "i know a druggie when i see one- how do you know him?" he asked, earning a shaky breath in thought
and so renjun explained, everything. from san first talking to him, to how beomgyu got him high, to how he was beat and hit whenever he did something wrong. donghyuck was silent, listening intently as he subconsciously rubbed his thumb over renjun's temple
"i promise to watch over you like a mother-fucking hawk- nobody does that to somebody else" he gritted his teeth, but smiled as renjun giggled
"so who's that chenle? he's super cute!"
"my best friend - i'm sure you two will get along really well. you're probably as crazy as each other!" donghyuck could only laugh
