dandelions tell you to wish, but what if you can't breathe?
crying. that's all renjun could do as he made his way home from school in the rain- his heart thumping rapidly against his chest and his stomach heavy with emotional pain
he messily wiped his tears and snot upon approaching his house, stumbling into the garden before making his way up to the door and twisting the handle, feeling his heart stop as it didn't click open
"mama..?" he sniffled, drying his tears with his sleeve as he stood underneath the little ledge above the entrance door
his keys were placed neatly on his desk in his room, and his brother was still at yuta's house
renjun breathed out, falling to the ground from his shaky legs and inspecting the large graze covering his whole left knee, wincing as he ran a finger over it
this day had gone so terribly awful that all he wished to do was sleep until the whole week was over and done with
so, he allowed his eyes to close, drifting off as the rain pattered onto the ground infront of him and the clouds painted the sky a saddening grey.
renjun was awoken by a gentle shake to the shoulder and a hand on his cheek, coming to and blinking away the sleep from his eyes
"hi sweetie.. let's get you inside," jiyoung spoke quietly, she had reilun settled on her hip and a bag in her hand, setting it down to help her son stand and guide him inside first
"mama.. i forgot my keys.." he mumbled, shivering from the cold weather and whimpering as she helped him out of his jacket, reilun having toddled off somewhere
"gege!" she ran back in, wobbling on her feet as she carried a rather big fluffy blue towel, giving it to renjun and giggling as he smiled and thanked her
"go and take a shower, you can take a nap with reirei after and i'll make some dinner" jiyoung smiled, kissing renjun's forehead
"thank you mama.." he whispered, before disappearing down the hall
"let's get you into some comfy clothes little princess," jiyoung tickled reilun, humming as the toddler spun around in her dusty rose puffy dress, a pout on her face
"b-but.. pretty.." she muttered sadly
"you can wear it tomorrow sweetheart, does that sound good?"
"mhm!" reilun giggled and squealed as she was lifted up
"he's in his room- he fell asleep with rei about an hour ago so they're probably still knocked out now" jaemin smiled, thanking jiyoung quietly before he left to the hall with jeno on his trail
the door was pushed open and the pair of alphas smiled at the sight of the little toddler waking up, rubbing her half-open eyes and wiping the drool off of her flushed, slightly chubby cheeks
she blinked a few times, spotting jeno and making desperate grabby hands for him, pouting
"hi adorable" jeno smiled and easily lifted her up, climbing onto the mattress along with his mate and feeling his ears twitch as somebody whimpered almost silently
"baby awake?" jaemin whispered, earning another whine. renjun sniffed and lay his head on jaemin's lap, smiling as his boyfriend ran his fingers through his tuft of candyfloss hair
"hi darling, your mum rang us because you haven't had a good day" jeno began, reaching over to run his thumb down the omega's cheek
renjun twisted so he lay on his back, taking one of jaemin's hands in his sighing as his eyes stung with tears
"i've had a really bad day.." he mumbled, yet nothing went unheard as he continued to explain what had happened earlier - not forgetting to mention how he had ran into san and wooyoung after so long of managing without their presence (this made jaemin's fingers flex and curl, but as soon as the pup whimpered he apologised and let his baby continue)
reilun had wandered off to find jiyoung a while prior, so jeno shuffled across the bed to sit in between renjun's legs, thighs set on his hips and a soothing rub on renjun's abdomen to calm him
"puppy?" renjun hummed, jeno having crawled forward to lay on his torso "are you hungry? your mum told us you didn't eat much earlier" jaemin spoke gently, smiling in admiration as his omega only pouted in reply, crossing his arms in an attempt to look scary
"wanna cuddle for now," he smiled sheepishly, giggling as jeno pushed his shirt up and kissed lines into his stomach "jen-" he whined "stoop!" he wriggled, his laughter only increasing in volume as jaemin jabbed his fingers into his side, sending the little one into fits of laughter and squeals
"we love you bubba, you know that hm?" renjun nodded shyly, now laid between his lovers after the three had calmed from earlier
"i love you both too, you make me feel so safe" he whispered, hands clenching jaemin's shirt "'feel so.. i feel like i'm worth so much even if you're just looking at me" he swallowed thickly, "i don't know how to make you feel special too.." his eyed glossed over with tears
"baby- you make us feel special every single day, whether you're with us or not. sometimes we're not able to see you and that's when we feel your love the most our angel" jeno kissed his forehead, rubbing their noses together and smiling as renjun hugged him suddenly, crashing their lips together and giggling as jaemin whined from behind the omega
as soon as he pulled away from jeno, he was flipped around and pulled into a light kiss, smiling at each other with love in their eyes
