Sitting in the parlour room—Cabel and I savor the scent of the green tea sent from Xiao. The mild, slightly bitter and refreshing scent fills my mouth.
I smile, enjoying the flavour as I read the letter that was sent alongside of it.

"Ming and Canella seem to be doing well." I speak to Cabel as he reads a document beside me.
"Any word of the crowning?" Cabel asks.
"Yes, it went well. The citizens were accepting, and everyone finds Canella and Ming to be quite adorable and admirable."
"I see. How're those annoying old men doing?"
"Old men?" I question.
"The outdated government officials." Cabel looks up at me, flashing his sly grin.
I scoff, rolling my eyes.
"Well, Canella fired half of them for trying to dethrone her the first week."
"Should I exert my powers?"
"Your authority or those powers?" I glare at him dubiously.
"One or the other, it can be a surprise."
"Neither then." I roll my eyes again, watching his slight mischievous expression.
"You look beautiful." He speaks with a low voice—gently taking my hand giving a flirtatious kiss on the back of it.
"Cabel, flatter me all you want, but if you harm anyone-" Engaging my powers, my hand glows gold as I quickly tap Cabel's nose, "I'll be very upset."
Wincing slightly from my powers causing a ticklish sensation, he rolls his eyes before wrapping his arm around my waist.
"Since I'd hate to upset my lovely fiancée, I'll behave." He chuckles, giving me a small kiss on the cheek before kissing my neck, "Can I do anything to make sure you won't be upset?"

His eyes still wearing a dangerous glint of mischief, my cheeks begin to blush as I try to avert my eyes.

Just before I'm swept away by his seductive gaze, a knock on the window catches our attention—glancing over, we see Cethin giving a small wave.

Straightening myself, I try to make some space between Cabel and I as Cethin opens the window.

"Greetings, your highnesses." Cethin teases, giving an exaggerated-flamboyant bow once he enters the room.

"What is it?" Cabel fixes his eyes on Cethin—a visible irritation in his eyes as he leisurely leans back.
"Just wanted to check up on my dear friend." Cethin makes his ways close to me, petting my head.
Glaring at Cethin's hand touching my head, Cabel rolls his eyes before reading his documents.

"Chicky, are you not going to be a consultant since you'll be crowned?" Cethin stares at the plate of snacks in front of us, before taking a cookie.
"I suppose I can't... Unless, would it be possible to do it while I'm an empress?" I tilt my head looking at Cabel.

"As an empress you'll have duties to help lead the empire. You'll be in charge of everything inside the palace grounds, focus on finance, hiring help, maintaining peace with nobles and more. There might not be enough time to become a consultant with everything you'll need to do."
"I suppose being a consultant was a long shot."
"Not necessarily."
At his words, I tilt my head.
"If you'd like, you can take a year to work? You'll have insight of how to rule the palace and empire, since consultants usually have to assist with it."
"R-Really? Is that allowed?" I ask, my eyes widening at his suggestion.
"Given that I'll be the one approving it, of course it's allowed. I know you're capable to be my empress, but I'd rather you be confident in your skills rather than be overwhelmed."
"I..." Touched by his caring gesture, I flash a bright smile, "I'd love the experience. Just for one year?"
"Just a year. I'll have it approved, however, we're still getting married."
"Of course! I'm not trying to break our engagement." I giggle, holding his hand.

"Ugh gross." Cethin scoffs, "Get a room."
"We can use any room if we wanted." Cabel snickers.
I swat his hand, glaring at him.
"D-Don't say things like that!" I stammer, surprised by his provocative comment.
"Whatever, have fun you two—thanks for the snack." Cethin waves, leaving back out the window as he senses the mood.
