Chapter 11: Enough flirting

"Oi Y/N where are you heading?" Seamus asked me 2 days later in which I only talked to Fleur.

It turned out that the Ravenclaw boy who she talked to asked her to be his date and actually agreed.

"I was just going to my dorm! What about you?" I asked out of interest

"I am just heading to the owlery to send out a letter to my mum and Dean is also coming!" he explained

"Who was Dean again?"

"He is my best friend!" he explained "Hey do you want to join us?" he offered

"Sure why not" I agreed "I don't have anything else to do anyways!"

"I get it you just talk to me 'cause you're bored" he joked and I rolled my eyes

"Dean" Seamus said when a tall boy was suddenly standing next to us "This is Y/N!" he introduced me

"Hey Y/N!" Dean said "I am Dean as Seamus probably already told you! I hope it's fine addressing you with your first name"

"Yeah it's fine" I laughed "Nice to meet you by the way"

"Ok guys enough flirting! We don't have all day!" Seamus told us annoyed "Let's go!"

"We were-"

"I wasn-"

"Doesn't matter come on now" Seamus complained after we tried to defend ourselves

We left the castle and made our way to the castle

"You know Y/N you are quite a talk in the common room" Dean informed me

"Why would they talk about me?"

"Dean is over exaggerating" Seamus started to explain "It is just the Quidditch group! And some of them think that you are going to the ball with Antoine"

"Why would I go to the ball with my brother?"

"He is your brother?" Dean asked confused

"Ignore him" Seamus looked Dean "Well it may have looked like he asked you the other hall in the Great Hall"

"It really looked like he was!" Dean added

"DEAN!" Seamus shot a glare at his friend "So that is why they assume that you are going together"

"And they spill the tea on the guy!" Dean added again

"Well maybe they could read the tea leaves afterwards and figure out the truth" Seamus laughed and Dean joined him but I was still confused.

"But he was only asking for advice!" I told them

"They can't speak or understand French" Seamus reminded me

"Right," I said. The fact attending the ball with my brother creeped me out.

"Do you have someone for the ball?" I tried to switch up the topic to escape this awkward rumors

"I asked Lavender Brown the other day!" he said proudly "She is in our year and house!"

"Maybe she could've helped the others reading tea leaves" Dean laughed "She is really into Divination" he added

"Well atleast I have a date!" Seamus looked at Dean "And she is actually a very lovely person and she is really pretty too"

"Seamus relax!" Dean laughed "Or you will blow up!"

Even I had to chuckle. I remembered when I was smaller that Seamus sometimes blew up things by accident and rumors have it that he still has a talent to do so.

We reached the stairs to the owlery and climbed them up. Seamus and Dean were discussing their last Defense against the dark arts class.

"I don't like him" Seamus stated "He is just weird!"

"Well maybe you believe that because you had to stick your gum on your desk the first lesson" Dean chuckled

"That is exactly the thing! He had his back to the class and he still saw it!"

"Isn't your DADA teacher this old auror?" I asked reaching the top of the stairs

"Yeah Mad-eye-moody" Seamus said

"Well is actual name is Alastor Moody" Dean added

"My mum told me about once" I told them "Some people say he has gone mad!"

"He definitely has" Seamus said while walking up to one of the owls

"He isn't the worst DADA teacher we ever had" Dean complained about Seamus "And his lessons aren't the worst ones!"

"You know what you two sound like?" I looked at them unable to get the thought out my head "You sound an old married couple when you argue" I chuckled

"We do not!" Seamus complained

"You do sound like an old woman sometimes Seamus!" Dean chuckled

"There you have it!" I laughed. My comment resulted in them rolling their eyes but I saw they were blushing slightly.

"Whatever!" Seamus said while sending the owl off "Atleast I have a ball remember?"

"You have to brag about your date all the time do you?" Dean said annoyed

"I am not bragging!" Seamus looked at his friend furiously "I seem to be the only one here!" he reminded us "You don't have a lot of time left to find a date!"

"2 weeks" I pointed out

"Yes but the next Hogsmeade trip is next week and it will be the last one before the ball!" he told us while leaving the owlery

"So?" Dean asked confused

"So! You get something nice for your date and if you don't already have dress gowns you have to get them too" he explained "So you two better hurry!"

"I mean we can just go together!" Dean suddenly suggested to my surprise "I mean if you want to!" he looked at me

"Sure why not!" I answered "Bu-"

"Don't get your hopes up mates!" Seamus interrupted me "She is nearly 2 years older than you!"

"Relax Seamus!" Dean hissed at his friend

"We would just go as" I tried to assure Seamus "as just met-friend right?"

"Exactly! Thanks Y/N!" Dean looked at his friend again

"I hope so" he looked at us again

"We just want to enjoy the ball like every other student" Dean said

"Alright I get it" Seamus chuckled while we were closer to the castle "I was only joking!"

"It didn't sound like that" Dean and I said at the same time and starting to laugh

"I hate you two!" Seamus said

"No you don't" I nudged him slightly

"He tries to" Dean laughed. "But we are just too cool for him to not like us!"

"I should have never introduced you two to each other!" Seamus laughed

We entered the entrance

"I gotta go now!" I informed them "Curfew is soon! But it was nice meeting you Dean"

"What about me?" Seamus asked outraged

"Did I meet you today?"

"No!" Seamus said

"Exactly!" I laughed "But it was nice talking to you!"

"That wasn't too hard was it?" Seamus laughed

I rolled my eyes before making my way to my dorm "See you around!" I shouted

It was really nice hanging out with them today and I actually think that Dean is a really good and funny friend.

I was also relieved that I had a date with someone! I'm kinda happy that I wasn't asked in any romantic way.
