Chapter 14: Are they a thing now?

The rest of the Christmas holidays were mostly spent within our own school. We did join Hogwarts and Durmstrang for the feast one day after the ball but we all stayed at our school/house tables.

It made me a bit sad that I didn't go home for Christmas for this year but Christmas here was absolutely wonderful. If I were a Muggle I would say that it was magical.

Dean told me that Muggles love to use this word when I was going to the owlery one day as I wanted to send a letter back to my mum thanking her for the shoes as a Christmas present and he asked me if he could accompany me. We get along really well even though he is about 1,5 years younger than I am. He told me a bit more about his life at home and his mum, who didn't have any magical blood, so she was referred to as a Muggle.

I never thought about growing up without magic. My family isn't a pureblood family but my parents both grew up with magic as well.

Roger turned out to be mostly interested in Fleur's looks and not her personality. Fleur actually seemed to be really bothered by that because she thought that he was not just like any other boy that was only interested in her looks.

The thing that cheered Fleur up was that she found out the clue of the golden egg she had to seek from the dragon during her first task. She wrote down the message and showed it to me before telling anyone else. I still have the note lying on my bedside table and I memorised it by heart.

Fleur kept repeating the message over and over again before finally figuring out. We both think that on the 24th February, when the task is taking place, she has to find something in the Great lake on the school grounds. She is still figuring out how she is supposed to hold her breath for one hour but she read something about the Bubble-Head Charm.

It is a that produced a bubble around the head of the caster, giving them a continuous supply of , allowing them to breathe where they could not otherwise.

Today was Sunday, the last day before the term starts. I quickly got up, put on a pair of jeans and a simple jumper before making my way down to breakfast.

The Great Hall was already filled with students and I saw that all different houses and schools sat mixed and not at their own table like they used to the whole holidays.

I looked around the hall trying to spot Fleur but I didn't see her anywhere.

"Y/N!" I heard someone called my name and as I followed the sound I saw Katie "Come sit with us!"

I sat down on the bench across from Katie and Alicia.

"I haven't seen you since the ball" Katie started "So what have you been up to?"

"Nothing special really!" I explained "I enjoyed Christmas and the time with Fleur and I actually even talked to my brother" I chuckled. I remembered talking to Antoine 2 days after the ball and how he told me that he really enjoyed his time at the ball with Alicia.

"Did he say anything about the ball?" Alicia suddenly sounded excited

"Uhm...." it was a little weird talking about the feeling of your brother "You know he told me that he had a great time. I think he likes you!"

"Really?" Alicia blushed "Well Katie, seems like you are not the only one with an interest!" she chuckled

"Wait can someone update me?" I asked curiously remembering that George took Katie to the ball.

"It seemed like it went well!" Alicia laughed "After I found the two of them snogging!"

"Well actually the truth is that he was really nice and then it just happened!" she blushed

"Katie that is amazing!" I said happy

"Oh actually I have news!" she confessed "George asked me this morning if I want to come to the Quidditch pitch later"

"Did he just ask you on a date and you act like it is nothing!" Alicia squealed

"Will you keep down?" Katie hissed at Alicia looking in the direction were Lee and George were sitting "I don't think that it is such a big thing"

"You have been talking about George for months now and you think that it isn't a big thing that he asked you to meet you at the Quidditch pitch when both of you like Quidditch after he kissed you at the ball?!"

"Alicia is right! I mean I don't know any of you for long but I never saw any of you hanging out alone!" I agreed with Alicia

"Maybe you're right but I am trying not to think about it too much!" she told us

Just seconds later Lee was standing behind me "Have any of you seen Fred?" he asked

"No but I bet that he is snogging Angi somewhere!" Alicia told Lee without thinking about the discussion she was starting. Lee was already sitting down next to me

"Are they a thing now?" Lee asked.

I remembered the day of the ball when I nearly bumped into them. My stomach dropped.

"I am not sure!" Katie started "I mean Angelina always had a little crush on Fred but I didn't think that Fred was interested as well"

"But they always seemed to get along really well" Alicia stated "And I mean why not right?" she looked at the other two.

"I honestly don't know" Lee said "I mean as I know Fred it could just be a coping mechanism but then again Angelina wouldn't do that! At Least that's what I think!"

"What do you think?" Lee looked at me

"I....ehm...I" I was lost in my own thoughts only listening half, thinking about the ball again and how weird it left me feeling "I don't really know Angelina. I mean I talked to her once and about Fred: I mean I don't really know!"

"I mean what about the girl he was always talkin about?" Lee asked us and I was wondering if he knew the girl and was just hiding it or if he had absolutely no clue "I mean did he get rejected or something?"

"I don't believe that he got rejected but I think he lost his hope!" Katie said "But maybe we should just ask them before trying to figure out!" Katie suggested

We all finished our breakfast before we got up. I left the group to get to my dorm to see if I was able to find Fleur there but in the end I found her in the library.

She was still trying to figure out the charm and I sat down trying to translate the things I had to since most of the books in the library are in English.
