Chapter 17: Why was I so stupid?

I didn't know where I was going. I rushed out of the library walking through multiple corridors. I felt like a cheater even though it wasn't me that directly cheated. But as a person I would never wish anyone to experience cheating.

I wanted to find Angelina but I was so scared that she would judge me. So I was walking down corridors and got lost inside of the castle I now knew for multiple months now.

I didn't know what to do. On one side I was happy that Fred kinda felt the same way I did, but on the other side I felt terrible of what I just did.

I didn't watch where I was going. I was mostly looking at my own feet which resulted in me bumping into someone. I looked up and saw a familiar face.

"Y/N?!" Katie looked into my face "Is everything alright?" she asked me

" I....ehm.... I... I am not sure"

"What's wrong?" Katie asked me concerned

" I was just in the library doing my astronomy homework and then.... and then" I was kind of uncomfortable talking about it " and then Fred came in and just said down to do his homework"

" There's no problem with that, is there?" Katie looked at me confused

" No.... no not exactly but when I was just about to get up he called me back and started telling me how worried he was about me during the second task and that he really cared for me?!" I tried to explain but the situation confused me "He also told me how important I am to him and then..... then.... he just..... kissed me!" it was a weird thing to tell the whole situation to Katie knowing that one of her best friends is Angelina

"What?!" Katie looked at me in surprise and wasn't or she would being happy or mad about it.

" Katie I was looking everywhere for you, you were supposed to meet me half an hour ago!" I heard another voice and Angelina came around the corner.

I felt like my worst nightmares came true and I didn't know what I would tell her.

" Sorry Angelina I kind of forgot I'm so sorry and I just bumped into Y/N here and she told me something rather surprising!" Katie told her friend and I was confused by the way she said the word " surprising"

"Really what happened?" Angelina looked at me "Oh you know what we should find a place to be more comfortable and then you can tell me everything about what just happened because I love gossip!" with that she turned around " you guys coming?" she look back at us.

I didn't have a good feeling about this. I had two options. I either tell Angelina what really happened and maybe break her heart or or I would just make up a story but then Katie would know that I was lying.

We found a quiet corner in a corridor and set down on a window sill.

"Ok so tell me Y/N what surprising happened to you!" Angelina broke the awkward silence after a few seconds

I wasn't or if I should tell Angelina so I looked at Katie and she nodded? I wasn't sure what sign she was giving me but then she moved her hand and which looked like she was about to say " just tell her it's alright!"

" I was the library doing my astronomy homework" I started telling the story still not sure if this was the right choice "and then Fred sat down next to me doing his homework. When I finished my homework and gathered all my stuff together and was starting to leave but he called after me and told me how much he worried about me doing the second task, which confused me. I sat down next to him and he also told me much he cares for me me and yeah" I took one last look at Katie but the way she looked at me seemed encouraging

"And then something really interesting happen. He just kinda.... he just... " I made a longer pause

"Hekissedme!" I blurted out

"OMG!" Angelina said shocked And I thought that she would hate me for the rest of my life but she added something that really confused me.

"He finally did it!" she chuckled "I thought he would never do it!"

"Wait what?" I asked her confused but I seemed to be the only one confused "You aren't mad or anything?"

"Not all!" Angelina said which confused me even more "I am anything than mad I am proud, happy, relieved" she laughed

"I thought you guys were a thing!"

"Me and Fred? NO! I mean I had a crush on him for a very long time but we only made out twice" she told me "There weren't really feelings involved to be honest! I mean he obviously wasn't interested anyways!" she explained

I looked at Katie waiting for answers but she seemed to not notice me, looking at Angelina.

"Fred was always interested in the girl from the World Cup and since he saw her the first time in Hogwarts he wouldn't stop talking about her'' she chuckled "But then he thought he lost his shot! He kept caring for her a lot but he lost his hope!" Angelina explained

"Sure!" I sarcastically said not believing her "Let me guess I am the girl?" I laughed but stopped when I looked at Katie and Angelina's face "MERLIN'S BEARD!"

It all started to make sense now. It all added up. Why didn't come to this conclusion before? Why was I so stupid?

"So you are not mad at all?" I asked Angelina again

"Nope! I am happy not only for Fred but for me because if a good friend is happy it makes me happy!" she smiled

"AND YOU!" I looked at Katie "Why did you never tell me?"

"You told me not to!" Katie tried to defend herself

"Right sorry I forgot!" I apologized "I am....I need to process all of this!" I told Katie and Angelina "I am gonna go to bed now!"

But I nearly didn't get any sleep all night. I was re-living situations in my head and it all started to make sense. The way he introduced me to his friends caring about me, trying to cheer me up the other day by playing Quidditch, being weird after Antoine talked to me because he probably thought I was going with him....

IT ALL ADDED UP!

But when did I see him at the World Cup?

I thought about that for a long time. I was nearly falling asleep when the memory suddenly flashed into my mind.
