The Girl Behind The Mask

Chapter 4

       Chiyo raised her head as the classroom door opened, she was sure that the last of the graduates had arrived. To her surprise Naruto walked in proudly brandishing a headband.

  "Would you look at that, he passed" Midnight smiled.

  "Naruto-kun! You did it" she cheered, he waved enthusiastically at the black haired girl.

"I'm a ninja now" he said sitting next to her. On the other side of Chiyo was Sasuke who rolled his eyes at the boy's energy.

   "That's great!" she said smiling at him, there moment was brought to an end by the sound of running. The classroom door burst open revealing both Sakura and Ino both females out of breath. They looked at each other almost as if they were trying to scare one another. 

"I win!!" they both yelled at the same time. Chiyo raised a confused eye brow.

   "Are you crazy, I won" Ino screamed,

  "God they sure are loud" Midnight complained. Sakura ran over towards where Naruto was sitting,

"I think she likes my headband" Naruto  saif confidently. Chiyo just smiled not having  the heart to tell him that she was more interested in Sasuke than him. The pink-haired girl pushed the blond out of his seat without a second thought. He tumbled to the floor but she paid no mind to him. Her green eyes focused on Chiyo,

"could you switch seats with me" she asked in a sickly sweet tone.

"I'm sitting next to Sasuke!" Ino butted in, the two girl's started to argue with each other soon joined by most of the females in the class. Chiyo began to sink down in her seat.

   "They sure are loud" Midnight said,

"You can say that again" Chiyo mumbled under her breath. While the arguing continued Naruto jumped onto Sasuke's desk looking him in the eye, he glared at the boy who only had a bored expression on his face.

"Naruto! Stop glaring at Sasuke-kun" Sakura demanded her face turning red with anger. What no one saw was one of the boy's moved his arm back hitting Naruto. This caused him to go forward locking lips with Sasuke. The whole class stared at them eyes widened in total silence. The silence didn't last long as the classroom was filled with the angry screams of the crowd of fan girls.

"Naruto!!!" Sakura yelled, her eyes staring into the blond boy's soul. Taking quick action Chiyo stood up getting in front of Naruto.

  "Let's all calm down, it was just an accident" she tried to calm the crowd down.

"Stay out of this" Ino yelled taking a step closer towards the black-haired female. A cloud of smoke appeared and Midnight stood in front of Chiyo. The girl's froze taking several steps back as the wolf gave them a warning growl. Chiyo sighed to herself moving to the seat next to Shikamaru letting Sakura take the one next to Sasuke. The room became quiet once more as Iruka walked in.

   "You're all officially full fledged ninja now, you'll be put into three man teams. Due to the uneven students however, one team will have four members" the teacher explained. People started to whisper about who they wanted to be on teams with.

"Teams? What a drag" Shikamaru complained. Chiyo laughed quietly at his comment. As teams were announced Chiyo nervously waited to hear her name.

"Team seven, Naruto Uzamaki, Sakura" Naruto cheered standing from his seat. Meanwhile Sakura sulked putting a head on her desk.

"And Chiyo" Iruka finished,

  "good luck dealing with them" Shikamaru whispered to her. She sighed to herself,

  "this should be interesting" she said under her breath.

"I have a feeling this is going to be difficult" Midnight chimed in.

"Why do I have to be on a team with a slug like him" Naruto yelled pointing towards Sasuke.

"Sasuke had the best scores of the class, you had the worst" Iruka explained. The blond started sulking again,

  "poor Naruto" Chiyo frowned.

"You'll meet your teachers after lunch" Iruka explained. The class got up to eat their lunches.

"Chiyo-chan, do you wanna eat lunch with us" Kiba's voice called. She turned to see him along with his teammates Hinata and Shino.

"Sure Kiba-kun" she smiled,

  "great!" the boy cheered. Hinata smiled shyly at her while Shino remained stone faced.

   "Hello Hinata-chan, Shino" she waved.

  "Hi Chiyo-chan" the short haired female greeted while Shino simply nodded. The four of them sat on a bench near the school.

"You know Chiyo, I wish you were on my team" Kiba complained.

  "I don't know how you're going to deal with Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura being on yours" he said.

"Ah, I'm sure I'll be fine" she said,

   "It's essential for a ninja to be able to work with different types of people" Midnight's voice caught the group of guard.

  "Midnight, you surprised me" Chiyo said, The wolf chuckled.

  "I bet it's super cool having a wolf to fight with" Kina complimented. Akamaru jumped out of Kiba's jacket and ran up to the larger animal. Midnight dipped her head down as a greeting to the small dog.

"It is handy" Chiyo said,

  "you should be eating" Midnight reminded the black haired girl said.

  "But she can be more like a parent sometimes" she commented. She took a bite of her food as Akamaru jumped into Kiba's arm.

  "I'm glad Naruto graduated" Hinata said softly.

"So am I" Chiyo smiled, the group continued to talk as they finished their lunch.
