The Girl Behind The Mask

Chapter 6

     "Chiyo" Midnight's voice called, said girl groaned as she slowly opened her eyes. She looked out the window seeing how early it was. Chiyo pulled the blanket over her face,

"It's to early" she complained letting out a yawn.

"You have training today" the wolf reminded her. Letting out another groan slowly lowering the blanket. She sat up her hair a mess as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

  "The suns barely up" she said,

  "stop complaining, you need to get ready" Midnight said sternly. Chiyo tiredly made her way to her closet putting on her usual outfit. She brushed the tangles put of her hair before grabbing her weapons and mask. As she walked towards the front door she looked towards the kitchen her stomach  growling with hunger.

  "Remember, no breakfast today"

"I know" Chiyo said. The wolf followed her.

  "Good morning Chiyo"Sakura greeted the female. She waved back yawning once again.

  "Morning Sakura-chan" she said approaching the area. The pink haired girl looked over at the wolf waving nervously. Midnight bowed her head,

  "hello" she greeted before disappearing into a cloud of smoke. Chiyo sat down in front of a tree crossing her legs. She leaned back stretching her arms her eyes starting to feel heavy. Soon, she had fallen asleep against the tree.

  "You're late!" Sakura's voice woke Chiyo from her sleep. She looked forward to see Kakashi had finally arrived, the sun beat down on her alerting the female that a lot of time had passed. She stood up her legs feeling stiff, Chiyo joined the rest of her team as they stood in front of their sensei. The black haired girl didn't bother listening to whatever excuse he had given for being late as she watched him reach into his pocket. He pulled out three small, silver bells tied to strings. He then pulled put a timer setting it down on the stump next to him. Turning back to the group he smiled,

"You have to get a bell from me before noon" he explained.

"If you don't you won't get lunch" he continued.

  "I get why he didn't want us eating breakfast" Chiyo said her stomach growling softly.

"You can use weapons" he told them breaking the female's train of thought.

"But sensei, that's dangerous"

  "Yeah, you couldn't even dodge an eraser" Naruto smirked.

"Kids like you always end up loosing" Kakashi said.

"When I say start you can come at me" he stated. Without warning Naruto charged forward attempting to attack the man. Not even breaking a sweat Kakashi held him back which only frustrated Naruto further.

"I didn't say start yet" he said glancing down at the boy.

"But, you came at me with the intent to kill, I'm starting to like you" Kakashi smiled. He looked at the rest of team seven for a moment,

"start" he said. Immediately Sakura, Sasuke, and Chiyo hid waiting for a chance to grab a bell. Naruto was now the only one left out in the open. Kakashi looked at him an eyebrow raised.

"You're a weird one, aren't you" he asked casually.

"The only weird thing is your hair!" Naruto yelled. He ran towards the man but was stopped when he was blown back. He skidded against the ground stirring up a large amount of dust until finally coming to a stop.

"He rushes into things too much, he's going to get himself killed like that" Midnight commented. Chiyo nodded thinking to herself. 

  "Midnight, I know what we have to do" she said the answer finally coming to her.

"Have you figured something out?" The wolf asked. The girl nodded jumping to a tree further away from Naruto and Kakashi.

"He's putting us against each other on purpose, there's no way just one of us can take him on. However if we all work together we can win" she explained.

"Kakashi isn't testing your skills as individuals, he's testing your teamwork" Midnight stated.

"Exactly, if I can convince the others than we can all attack at once" Chiyo said.

"That's easier said then done" the wolf said. Chiyo jumped down from her hiding spot once she could no longer see Kakashi. She found Naruto strung up by a rope. She jumped onto the tree branch helping free her friend.

"Thanks Chiyo-chan" Naruto smiled. She nodded,

"Naruto, if all of us work togethe-" she tried to explain only to be cut off.

"Sorry Chiyo, I'm gonna do this on my own" he said walking away.

  "Are you kidding me" Chiyo mumbled to herself.

"I guess you'll have to try and convince the other two" Midnight said.

"Maybe they'll listen" the black haired girl tried to reassure herself.
