The Girl Behind The Mask

Chapter 7

     A shrill scram rang throughout the forest,

"that was Sakura" Chiyo said. She spotted said female laying almost completely still in the dirt. The black haired girl ran towards her teammate gently shaking her. Sakura gasped her head shooting up in a panic.

"Saskura-chan? are you ok?" Chiyo asked.

"Sas-sasuke he was..." she trailed off.

"Sakura, we need to wo-"

"I have to go find Sasuke!" she said rushing off.

"Wait!" Chiyo called for her, however she wa completley ignored as she let out a deep sigh.

  "Well, Sasuke is the only one left"

  "I have doubts about how willing he would be to work with you"

  "This is gonna be harder than I thought" she Chiyo said to herself. It didn't take long before she found Sasuke, most of his body was buried beneath the ground only his head poking out.

  "Well, I never thought I would see you like this" she smiled trying to lighten the mood. Sasuke glared at het, grabbing the sword from her hip Chiyo walked over to him.

    "Don't worry, I'll help you" she said. Her weapon began to glow as she infused some of her Chakara with it. She brought it down piercing the dirt, the chakara split the ground creating a hole wide enough to free Sasuke. Chiyo held out her hand, the boy huffed taking her hand as she pulled him out.

"Sasuke, we need to work together. That-"

"I don't need your help, you'll only hold me back" he said.

"Sas-" she was once again cut off by the sound of an alarm going off.

"Well, that was a disaster" Midnight said, Chiyo only nodded.

   Naruto was tied to a wooden post while the rest of team seven sat on either side of him. Kakashi looked at all of them arms crossed,

"Hungry?" he asked taunting them. Om cue their stomachs began to growl loudly.

"Well, that's too bad" he said,

"there's no point for any of you to go back to the academy" Kakashi stated.

"We passed, but I only passed out" Sakura said surprised.

"The three of you should give up on being ninja" the man bluntly stated.

"What?!" Naruto yelled in disbelief,

"you all act like brats. Chiyo was the only one to figure out the answer" Kakashi said. The rest of team seven looked over at the black haired girl.

   "We were supposed to work together" she said,

"that's right I purposely pitted the four of you against each other. Even when Chiyo tried to help you none of you would listen" he explained.

"Naruto, you were acting stubborn, Sakura you were only focused on Sasuke. Sasuke, your ego gets in the way" he told each of them.

  "Teamwork is one of the most important parts of being a ninja" a new voice joined the conversation. The group looked over surprised to see that Midnight had appeared. Kakashi smiled going along with it, suddenly Sasuke was being held down by him.

  "Sakura, kill Naruto or Sasuke dies" he said, the pink haired girl stood  their frozen. The weapon that was being held close to Sasuke's throat was quickly withdrawn.

"That's what can happen during a mission. One of you could end up dead" he told them. The team hung their heads down as Chiyo subconsciously pet Midnight's head.

  "I'll give you all another chance. Eat lunch but don't give Naruto any. It's his punishment for trying to eat earlier" he said walking away. As the group began to eat Sasuke held up some of his food towards Naruto.

"But, Kakashi said not to feed him" Sakura said.

"I don't see him" the stoic boy said,

"besides, if Naruto doesn't eat then he'll be weak" Chiyo said. Naruto accepted the food but as soon as he did the sky became dark and Kakashi appeared in front of the group.

"You!" his voice boomed,

  "you broke the rules" he said. The group aside from Chiyo shivered at Kakashi's expression.

  "What do you have to say for yourselves?" he asked. Chiyo was the first to speak,

"we are one" she said. Her teammates went silent while Kakashi looked at her.

"You are one huh?" he asked,

"yeah" Sakura agreed. Sasuke nodded as did Naruto.

"Well then..." Kakashi trailed off,

"you all pass"

   "huhhhhhhhh?!
