The Girl Behind The Mask

Chapter 43

        "I hope you're ready to die" the male taunted pulling out what looked like a whip. It was made from rope with a large blade on the end. It looked to heavy for someone of his stature to use as a weapon.

"Because I don't let people live when they get on my nerves" he glared at her. He jumped down from the tree branch he had been perched on top of swinging the whip around him in a circle. Chiyo jumped out of the way narrowly dodging the attack.

   "You can't dodge forever" the male said swinging the whip towards her once more. The black haired girl tries to dodge a second time but still received a scratch on her arm. Chiyo winced feeling a stinging pain in her arm as blood dripped from the wound.

   "Maybe if you give up and let me have what I want I won't kill you" the man said. She shook her head her body begining to shake with nervousness.

  "That's not going to happen" she said,

  "If you insist" the male said running towards her. She jumped back only for his hand to grab the black haired girl by the arm. He pulled her close to him his breath fanning her face.

  "Got ya" he said throwing Chiyo back. Her body made contact with a tree trunk as she let out a cry of pain.

  "Miss!" she heard a high pitched voice. Panicked she looked over to see Akasuka run out of the carriage, Akihiko had followed her trying to keep her away from the battle. The enemy's attention now drawn to them he smirked.

"To think two targets would just show themselves" the man said. With newfound determination Chiyo pushed herself to her feet despite the pain in her back. She saw the man swing his whip towards the sibling the blade flying towards them.

  "No!" she yelled appearing in front of them. The blade pierced her skin going through her body completely. The pain was horrible, like nothing she had experienced before. As Chiyo heard the cry of Akasuka she spit up a large amount of blood. Kakashi and Akaran who had defeated the other two quickly brought down the leader. As her vision was getting blurry Chiyo felt the blade being pulled from her body. She stumbled as her clothes became stained a crimson color. The black haired girl looked down seeing the large hole in her body. Unable to keep her balance any longer she fell backwards hitting the ground.

  Midnight appeared running to her side as did the siblings. Akasuka was kneeling next to her. Akemi and her husband ran towards her as well seeing the damage that had been done. Akihiko ripped some of his shirt using it  as a makeshift bandage.

  "We need to keep moving, our home isn't far" Akemi said. Akaran helped bring her in to the carriage so they could lay her down. Chiyo's eyes started to feel heavy as she lay still. Soon, her world had gone black.
