A written test, that didn't seem like to much of a challenge. At least to Chiyo it didn't, Naruto however was a mess as he began to panic. Chiyo looked up at him for a seat giving him a sympathetic look, he gave her a small wave as she gave him a small thumbs up hoping that would make him feel a bit better.
"The test has ten questions, you start off with a hundred points. For each question you get wrong ten points will be taken off" he explain.
"This seems like a normal test" Chiyo said to herself.
"There has to be a catch to this" Midnight said in a serious tone.
"If one of you fails, then your whole team fails" the man stated. Chiyo could tell that Naruto was begining to panic even more,
"Oh, and no cheating. If you're caught you'll fail" he continued. Chiyo looked around the room seeing several jojin watching them closely.
"I get it" Chiyo mumbled,
"What is it" Midnight asked. Chiyo tapped her pencil against the desk in front of it.
"This isn't about how many questions we get right" she said.
"This is about not getting caught cheating. They want to test how well we can gather information" she explained.
"That makes sense" The wolf said, the test began and without anyone seeing Midnight moved around the room. Her presence was invisible to everyone but Chiyo. Every now and again she would glance at Naruto who was sweating nervously. Time seemed to go slowly as the tenth question came around, multiple teams had already failed and the atmosphere was tense.
"Before I give you the final question There are some rules" the ninja said.
"If you get this question wrong, then your team will fail. If you wish you can opt out" he said.
"However if you do you and your team will forfeit the right to ever take the Chuin exams again" he said. Everyone left in the room was too stunned to speak. One boy raised his hand as it shook,
"I'm sorry" he apologized addressing his team. Chiyo looked up to see Naruto only for her eyes to go wide. He raised his hand staying silence for a moment,
"Don't tell me..." she said,
"Don't underestimate me" the blond said. The male in front smiled nodding his head.
"Why does he always worry me" Chiyo frowned,
"It seems to be a habit of his" Midnight commented.
"Everyone left" the man said looking at the young ninja.
"Passes" he told them, relived sighs filled the room as Chiyo smiled.
"I didn't see that coming" she said to herself. Suddenly the window was busted in by a woman with her hair up. Chiyo covered her face avoiding being hurt by any shards of glass.
"Don't start celebrating now, the second part of the exam is about to begin" she said only to be met with silence.
"You're early" the man standing next to her said. She looked around the room noting how many kids were still in the room.
"You let this many pass" she commented.
"Maybe you've gone soft" she teased.
"There are a lot of strong candidates this year" the male said. The woman nodded,
"I'll get rid of half of them" she smirked.
"I don't even wanna know what she means" Chiyo frowned.
"Honesty, neither do I" Midnight said worry laced in her voice.
-----------------------------------------------------------
"This is the forest of death" the woman told the group, Chiyo looked at the expanse of trees that lay beyond the fence."The forest of death huh?" she asked an erie feeling creeping up from the pit of her stomach.
"I have a feeling this is going to be a lot harder than the written test"
"Yeah....a lot harder" the black haired girl said rubbing the back of her neck nervously. The forest was imposing and dark.
"It's quiet" Chiyo said looking past the fence,
"too quiet" she finished the thought looking around at the other participants. Naruto was mocking the woman in charge of the exam as she crossed her arms a smirk on her face. Suddenly without warning she cut Naruto's cheek with a Kunai leaving a scratch, she stood behind him looking down over his shoulder.
"It's people like you who end up dying first" she said in a scarily dark tone.
"Is she crazy" Chiyo asked,
"Seems like it" Midnight commented. The black haired girl walked over to Naruto looking at the scratch,
"are you alright" she asked. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously,
"yeah! It's no big deal" he tried brushing it off, though it was obvious that he was shaken up. A shiver suddenly ran up Chiyo's spine as she noticed a woman talking to the ninja who had scratched Naruto. Her long hair and piercing eyes made Chiyo take a step back."Chiyo, are you ok?" Midnight asked, the female paused her body starting to shake a bit.
"That woman" she said pointing towards the long haired woman. She looked at Chiyo a smirk on her face, Midnight growled sensing something was up with her.
"We should avoid her" the wolf said, Chiyo nodded to herself.
"Yeah, we should" she said quietly as she did her best to compose herself.
