Chapter 10 -Half Moon

Half Moons POV.

Half Moon sat staring at the cave entrance Jaypaw had just disappeared into. She was shocked by his cold voice when he snapped at her.

Is he mad at me? It was probably because of me he and his sister had a fight...

Half Moon shook her head. He was probably just upset. She'd go find him in a little to try and talk. Hopefully she had a chance to talk to him before the battle.

She turned and walked away, ignoring the nagging feeling inside her. Half Moon seen Pebble sitting nearby, and decided to go talk to her.

"Hey, Half Moon." Pebble said when Half Moon approached. Her voice wasnt the usual overly cheerful voice.

"Hey. You okay?" Half Moon asked.

"Of course. What makes you ask?" Pebble said.

Half Moon didnt buy it. Her voice had a weird edge to it, and it was obvious to Half Moon somthiing was up.

"You just look down today."

"Well, I feel fine." Came Pebbles reply.

Half Moom sat down next to her. "Remeber the other day, when you aksed me if somthing was wrong? I said I was fine, but you could tell I was lying."

Pebble looked up. "What's your point?"

Half Moon wrapped her tail around Pebbles shoulders. "I can tell when your lying too."

Pebble sighed. "Its nothing. I'm just having a bad day."

"Talk to me. Talking helps."

Pebble snorted. "You never talk to anyone about your problems!" She pointed out.

Half Moon smiled sadly. "No... I don't. Maybe we can help each other. You tell me what's upsetting you, and..." Half Moon paused, feeling very hesitant.

She trusted Pebble with her life. And she did need someone to vent to. If there was a way she could help Pebble and herself feel better, she was going to take it.

"-And I'll tell you what's upsetting me." Half Moon finished.

Pebble sat up, and stared at Half Moon for a while. "Okay. As long as you promise not to make fun of me." Pebble said.

"I would never make fun of you for something that upsets you." Half Moon promised. "And I trust you not to make fun of me."

Pebble smiled. "I promise."

"Good. Now, explain what's wrong." Half Moon orderd.

Pebble pawed the grown hesitantly. "Well... I dont really know why I'm upset. I just feel like things are changing. Your best freinds with Jaypaw know... and it's like you've forgotten about me and Screech-"

Half Moon cut in quickly. "I never meant for it to seem like that! I love you, your like my sister, and Screech is like my brother. You guys are my family. I'm just trying to spend time with Jaypaw before he leaves."

Pebble shook her head. "I know Half Moon. I know you didn't see it that way. And I know you'd never do anything on purpose that could hurt us. I'm not blaming you." Pebble promised.

"What did you mean by everything's changing." Half Moon asked.

Pebble shrugged. "Wver since you started hanging out with Jaypaw, Screech has gotten way grumpier. And now that your mad at him... will it ever go back to the way it was?"

Half Moon shook her head sadly. "I don't know. He said some mean things to me. Things that hurt me badly. And he had no right saying them. So, yes, I'm very angry, and I dont know when I'll be willing to talk to him again."
