Jayfeather's POV

Jayfeather looked up at the huge mountains in front of him. He could feel his heart beating at the thought of finnaly being there.

When Rock told him to go to the mountins, he had been worried of leaving the clans alone with the dark forest.

But he had also been excited to get to see Half Moon. He still had the feather she gave him. It was torn with age and didn't smell of her anymore, but he still left it tucked into his nest.

The first time the nests got cleaned out in the medicine den, Leafpool almost threw it out. That was the first time Jayfeather had truly ever yelled at her. Now, every cat knew not to touch it, even though most of them thought he was truly crazy. First the stick, now the feather.

Jayfeather looked around, trying to find the safest route to start climbing the mountins.

"Jayfeather! We're going to rest. It's to dark to make it to the top tonight!" Squirrelflight scolded.

Jayfeather looked around, finally realizing how dark it was. He scowled, hissing at Squirrelflight.

She's been acting like a know it all the whole journey! Jayfeather thought angrily.

Squirrelflight rolled her eyes, and led them to a sheltered area.

"Can we hunt tonight? I'm starving!" Foxleap asked.

"No, I think it would be best if we slept and just hunt in the morning." Dovewing said.

Squirrelflight nodded to Dovewing. "Its to dark to hunt. We'll wait for morning." She decided.

Jayfeather watched as everyone laid down, having already decided he'd be first watch. His gaze drifted to Dovewing. Her ears were twitching, obviously picking up some noise.

Dovewing was the third cat of the prophecy. Jayfeather remembered the day Hollyleaf died.

He had felt the pain of losing his sister, and the pain of thinking the prophecy was lost.

Dovewing's power was seeing and hearing everywhere. Since leaving the clan territory, she'd been having trouble controlling how far she could hear.

Jaypaw sighed, staring wistfully into the mountins. A lot had changed since the last time he had been here. He had changed.

He couldn't wait to see Half Moon. He wanted to know she was okay. He wanted to see how much she had changed. And he wanted to know if she had moved on.

Last time he was there, another tribe to-be had made it obvious he was after her. Maybe she had finally noticed him. The thought sent a pang through his heart.

Almost everyday of his life, he thought of where he would be if he could've had Half Moon.

Jayfeather flet a pang go through his heart again, knowing he was going to go through all that pain again. He knew that the moment he seen her again he'd fall in love immediately.

Jayfeather thought back to when Lionblaze had pulled him aside to talk to him about Half Moon. Jayfeather had hissed in annoyance, and swore that he didn't feel anything for her anymore.

Jayfeather knew he was lying, and so did Lionblaze.

Jayfeather finished off the traveling herbs, pushing them to the side of the den.

Ever since he got permission to go to the mountins, his heart had been fluttering.
