CHAPTER 82

I woke up to the sound of some disturbance in the kitchen, i struggled to take away sam's hands off of me and got out of bed, i quickly got dressed and looked at wall clock to see it's still 1'o clock in the midnight, 

I cautiously made my to the kitchen, cathy was standing in kitchen leaning on island, "cathy" i called hoping not to surprise her, she turned to me with a smile, "oh! fiona.... sorry, did i wake you?" she asked, 

"let me help you" i said walking to her, 

"i couldn't sleep so thought of having some warm milk" she said, 

"sure, i'll get you, come sit" i said holding her hand, "thankyou" she said as i walked her to the couch, then i went into kitchen to warm up some milk and brought out the cookies mom made.

"aunt jane?" she asked as soon as she took a bite, i nodded, "i can recognize her hand made food easily, she adds a little extra toppings on everything" she said, i smiled sitting in opposite chair, 

"Fiona, how have you been?" she asked, "Cathy, what fiona? call me finn" i said feeling grateful that i found my voice now, "huh! is it weird?" she asked taking another cookie, i nodded, "why? i should use formals like you" she said looking at me sharply, oh this girl! she didn't change a bit, she's definitely my Catherine, i pouted, "come sit here" she said patting the place next to her, i moved to sit with her.

She hugged me tightly as soon as i sat beside her, "i missed you" cathy said, "say it back finn, i want to know, did you miss me? how were you when i'm not around, i was soo worried about you finn" she said voice shaking with emotion, 

"how have you been, did you eat well? how did you get into college? did anyone bother you? are you really doing well?" she asked continuously not giving a chance for me to answer, "i am sorry finn" she said releasing me and covered her face with hands, "i am soo sorry for leaving you, i had to leave" she cried, 

"no no cathy, don't cry" i said holding her wrist, "i am more sorry for being reckless, cathy please, it's not your fault" i said crying with her, 

"then why were you soo silent, i know you can't mingle with others easily, did i already become a stranger to you? why were you using formals with me? i am the same old cathy for you, i still love you the same, why didn't you get mad at me? i thought you would give a earful for leaving you like that, why finn? hit me, tell me i was wrong, blame me for everything happened, don't stay silent" she cried loudly, 

"oh god, cathy calm down" i said hugging her, "calm down okay, i will answer everything, you first calm down cath" i said crying with her, "talk to me finn, tell me everything" cathy said still crying, "you didn't change a bit, you still want me to talk no matter what!! that's the only rule i should follow right?!" i asked which brought smile to her face, "first finish this" i said giving her the milk, she gulped it all and said "so tell me" she said placing glass on table.

"i missed you, i missed you badly, i cried all the time. After you left, i locked myself in bedroom afraid of facing life without you by myside, i had to go to therapist to get myself feel safe enough to go outside, that didn't help much, i promise i didn't breath a word about you with any one, i pushed myself to stay positive and Jennifer, she stayed by my side all the time, i can't tell you how much she supported me. 

And in college, i was lucky to meet friends who were really caring, they understood and never questioned me then i found Samrat who made everything more comfortable, he made me feel more of myself, i feel free with him like how i feel with my family like how i feel with you" i said still holding her, 

"i am doing well cathy, believe me i am really happy with samrat and others, i admit i was a mess in the start but everyone helped me in one way or the other. Everyone of them helped me continue to have faith and hope and gave me strength to wait for you" i said as i released her,
