I stood there frozen, how in the hell did they trick me this way? cause you were soo clueless my inner voice scoffed at me, "are you kidding? is this a kind of prank or something?" i asked not believing what i just heard,
"no fiona, this is a real date, let me explain" he said, what?! if this is real then does this mean he likes me? oh wait fin what the hell? my inner voice shouted, what do they think of me? do they take me to a fool, i clenched my hands nails digging in to palms, they made me a fool, dany and max, they planned it all, heat rushed to my face as i felt anger rise in me "hey fiona, please just listen to me before you think of anything" max pleaded, i looked at him about to explode, i wanted to shout on his face to get lost "please" max said holding my hand, i roughly snatched my hand and turned away from him, he sighed deeply rubbing his face "come here" he said grabbing my hand, i reluctantly followed him.
We went in to a restaurant with not many people around, waitress brought water and handed us menu, max passed me the glass looking at me carefully, i waited till the waitress left us alone and exploded "what do you think of me Regan? do you take me to such a fool? you think this is fun? stop playing around. what do you mean you're my date? did you plan all these?"
He just sat there looking at me, his eyes pleading, taking a deep breath i said again "see i..." i started, max cut me off "please calm down, listen to me" he said, huh?! he expects me to listen, setting up a date like this, that too max, i thought he understood that i am not okay with this date thing, i thought he's a good friend and now here i am sitting before him, god what is all this?
"look fiona, first of i am sorry for tricking you like this, i really am but listen" he said, he took a breath before saying, "i like you fiona" he blurted out "after joining college we became close and i developed a crush on you, i know you see me as a friend but please let's give it a try" he said seriously holding my gaze,
Wah! this is just great he knows that i see him as friend and still expects me try with him, i scoffed at him, "fiona, i know you don't like this date thing and all, but just for today let's pretend like we're on a date" he said in a pleading tone,
I want to shout on his face but nothing came out, i just sat silently thinking on his words, even it's just for today, i don't want to do this, i don't want to try with max, i only see him as a good friend but fin just think, max likes you and you decided to get out of it with sam, trying it with others is the best option, what if it's max or any other guy, we already decided that and came this far, let's try this, like max said only for today, it's even easy cause he's someone close and already know you so let's go for it my inner voice said encouraging me "fiona?" max called pulling me out of the my thoughts, i think i should just play along since i came this far, i sighed deeply.
"see max i....i don't know how to react to this" i said drinking water from my glass, he waited patiently for my response "since i came this far..... i guess i'll just do this, let's pretend like we're on date just for today" i said yearning a happy yay from him, "but" i said pointing a finger at him "but if this doesn't work out, then from tomorrow we will be back to being friends and promise me that you won't make it awkward after this" i said gesturing between us, without any hesitation he said "promise" with a bright smile.
"actually you know what, it's soo shocking that you agreed for a date with unknown person and it's a pure miracle that just now you said yes to spent time with me today" max said, his eyes sparkling with happiness, i narrowed my eyes at him "you tricked me" i said flatly,
"i am sorry fiona but really i am soo happy thankyou" he said placing his hand on mine, i felt heat rushing to my cheeks, "should we order something, what would you like to eat?" he asked passing me the menu, i slightly turned my face "come on fiona, i said i'm sorry" he said pulling my hand playfully,
