"okay good..... let's do it again" Ms. Karen shouted at us. It's been 3 days since we have started practicing dance steps and samrat is just hopeless he wasn't able to do basic steps, at least today he stepped on me only 3 times.
"okay.....let's stop for today" Ms. Karen announced "fiona, samrat, carol, joseph, kelly and peter you people stay and others are dismissed" Ms. Karen said and everyone dispersed, dany and pam lingered a little longer behind me before signaling me that they would wait outside.
"Fiona and Samrat" she called looking at us we nodded "you two have good pace but there seems to be no chemistry, you need to look at each other while dancing, maintain eye contact and feel free don't think of others everyone are still learning, just close your eyes and feel the music.... do you understand what i'm trying to say?" she asked, indeed samrat and i are a little awkward to look into others eyes all the time while dancing and he feels very stiff under my arms maybe dance is not his type, boxing and dancing doesn't belong in same ring.
"yes" we nodded "and others too" she said pointing kelly and joseph "you both also feel free with each other and concentrate on where you're stepping. okay?" she asked us.
"yes" we all said at once. she smiled and said "Try your best and have a nice day guys"
"you too Ms.Karen" we said and came out taking our bags.
I looked around dany and pam are nowhere in sight. I took my phone from my bag intended to call them, instead my mobile flashed with a message from pam saying they are waiting at cafeteria and i replied with 'okay, on the way'
"fiona can i talk to you for a bit?" samrat asked catching up to me.
"hm...cafeteria?"
"yeah, sure"
"let's go then" i said and we walked in silence
As we entered "here" pam shouted waving at us. Kaal and dany were sitting together with pam facing them, we went and settled beside them "i ordered your fav drink for you" dany said lowering her voice and smiling at me "thankyou" i whispered back then we both laughed at our silliness.
"i thought you would be in bad mood" dany said,
"yeah what happened? why did she ask you to stay back?" pam asked samrat
"she said that we need to practice more and asked to try to do our best" he said simply,
"yeah, she suggested us to feel free with each other and concentrate on steps and you" i said pointing to samrat,
"are you nervous about this?" i asked him, "No" he answered curtly, "you feel so stiff under me" i said,
"oh, sammy why so stiff ?" kaal teased him.
"hey i didn't mean it like that, you pig" i hit the back of his head, dany threw him a glare and pam laughed at us.
"okay okay ladies calm down" he said rubbing his head
"i'm just kidding" kaal said lifting his arms in surrender, samrat nodded slightly, his cheeks a light shade of pink.
" so she asked you to practice more? and that's it?" pam asked typing in her mobile "yeah" i sighed and sipped my drink.
"okay guys i think we'll leave first" kaal announced taking his bag "uh...fiona, i think i can't give you a ride back home today, sorry" dany said "okay. No, no problem i can manage" i assured her.
"thank you" she beamed at me and they left.
"i think they're a thing now" pam said and we both giggled. my phone buzzed indicating a message, it's from dany i looking in the way they left a minute ago and opened the message
"sorry babe, i have to leave like that" it read
"it's okay" i replied,
"I'll tell you something interesting when we meet see you tomorrow" she sent with a heart symbol attached to it .
I smiled at the symbol "okay have fun" .
"busy huh?" samrat asked,
"No, it was dany saying sorry for leaving first, we usually go together" i said, wait why did i just explain to him? i usually don't explain my situation to anyone 'cause you don't want him to get a bad idea about you' my internal voice said, she can be very annoying sometimes.
I looked down avoiding any further talk and went back to enjoying my drink, pam and samrat chatted for a awhile and i stayed silent. We finished our drinks and came out "so how will you go home?" sam asked and before i could answer "i can drop you home, if you're okay" he offered,
"oh! no, it's fine. I'll go with pam for today" i said looking at pam, she was busy texting and looked up when she heard her name, i mouthed her to say 'yes', she wriggled her perfectly shaped eyebrows and said "yeah" and went back to her phone.
"you sure?" samrat asked me "yes, thanks for the offer though" i said, he shrugged lightly saying "anytime",
"okay then, see you later" i said to samrat as we reached parking lot
"yeah" he smiled and we parted
"uh...pam you don't have to..." i started as we reached her car, before i could finish saying "i know, i know. You would like to take long walks alone when dany is not around to eat your brain" we both started laughing .
"so i'll get going" i said taking out my earphones.
"yeah, be careful" she said and waved good bye, "you too" i said and started walking to my home i takes only 30-35 minutes to reach home by walk, less than 10 minutes by vehicle and i enjoy listening to music while walking.
i reached home after an hour spending some time in book store on my way, i brought a coloring book to my nephew, he turns 6 this year and i brought some books for myself. I greeted my mom and went up to my room to get changed then came down to help my mom.
"so you going to practice more?" my mom asked cutting vegetables on kitchen island, "yeah, i guess" i said popping carrot pieces in to my mouth, "i'm thinking of practicing one hour extra after classes" i said "i see" mom nodded taking out things from refrigerator,
"like you would win with just one hour practice" my sister said entering kitchen "mom why is she so annoying?" i complained and my sister started making funny faces at me
"do it before mother not behind her back, such a coward" i snorted,
"cynthia, fiona enough. Now go to your rooms" mom said and we both left to our rooms glaring at each other.
