Death of a renowned journalist from ATC News mistifies bluecoats, colleagues, kin

A 55 year old woman under the name of the famed journalist of ATC News, Sandra Vasquez, was found nearly lifeless with a laceration on her neck inside the ATC News Patrol Mobile, Friday night, along Taft Avenue in Ermita, according to Castor Hermosa, colleague of the recently demised journalist.

Vasquez was rushed to the Philippine General Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival at 6:46 pm.

According to Hermosa, she went back to the Mobile for her forgotten report draft for the news medium.

"Matagal po bago siya nakabalik sa studio, kaya napagdesisyunan kong sundan siya. Kailangan na po kasi naming i-draft ang news story na i-pu-publish. Pagkarating ko po nakita ko na lang siyang nag-aagaw buhay. May sinasabi po siya pero hindi ko masyadong naiintindihan. Tanging naging malinaw lang po sa akin ang sinabi niyang 'mage' paulit-ulit po 'yon," said Hermosa.

The probability of armed robbery inside a highly secured News District is zero, which entangled the authorities when the news piece, containing the illegal activities of distinguished businesses (bank fraud, Bribery, blackmail, counterfeiting, Embezzlement, forgery, insider trading, money laundering, tax evasion, and antitrust violations) was nowhere to be found.

ATC News Head of Security, Reynaldo Perez, said no security footage was recorded. Another questionable angle to the police force.

"Bigla ho nagkaroon ng ilang minutong blackout. Hindi rin po namin alam kung bakit, dahil ni minsan hindi naman ho 'yon nangyari," Perez stated.

As per the late journalist's granddaughter, Shimon Vasquez, said she has always been troubled with the scopes of her grandmother's news.

"Lagi ko pong sinasabihan si lola na tumigil na sa pagungkat ng mga maruruming pamamaraan ng mga business companies. Pero maprinsipyo pong tao si lola, kahit na anong pilit ko, hindi po siya tumigil," cried Shimon, when asked for a statement by the authorities.

When asked for the person she thinks is liable for her grandmother's death, no names were dropped by her.

Shimon went on stating that her grandmother left their home without any hint of disturbance, morning before her death.

It was also stated by the late journalist's kin that she only learned of Sandra's fate when Hermosa contacted her and asked her to go to the PGH.

The case is still under investigation, under the orders of PLtCol. Tomas Herrero, Manila police station 3 commander.

I took a deep breath as I crumpled the old newspaper that was released months ago, as tears came rushing to my cheeks. I've been wishing for this day to happen. For this very day when I'd be able to say that I have seeked the justice my grandmother deserved to have.

But now that I did, I felt as if dying. As if the pain quadrupled, as if there were millions of daggers on my chest, when in fact they should've been gone now that it's already a case closed.

Then, I realized that the pain I'd been carrying due to my grandmother's death was long gone when the man liable for her death was jailed. It was just that, another pain, another heartache came. And it was unbearable.

Why....of all people.....why does....it has to be....my man's father.....?

I had long accepted the fact that my life couldn't be as normal as that of the others. Ever since I was born, actually, even before I was born, the life I am to live was already as hard as the stones on the ground.
