They say women, being born with a complex mind, were the hardest to understand and the most complicated to deal with, but I beg to differ. Kael, being the most palpable reason for me to vary.
The next day came and he continued ignoring me. Hindi ko maintindihan kung mababaw ba s'ya o sumobra talaga 'ko, to think my banters were nothing compared to him, making fun of my chest frame.
Good thing that my F.I scheduled for an earlier training, I could push through with my plan.
"Good morning, Ma'am," the lady from the information desk greeted me. "May I know with whom you set an appointment?"
I smiled at her. "I'd like to meet with Mr. Mikael Salazar."
"Your name po?"
"Shimon Vasquez."
"Upo po muna kayo, I'll just call his secretary."
"His secretary told me that he's not expecting anyone nor accommodating anyone without setting an appointment with him."
I knew it, I mumbled in my mind.
Ngumiti ulit ako. "Is Mr. Matteo around?" He's my last resort.
"Yes, Ma'am," she beamed. "Would you like me to call his office, to let him know that you're here?"
"It was my fault, Sir," I said, cutting him to the chase. "Napikon po s'ya sa 'kin."
To my surprise, he bellowed with laughter. Kaya kunot-noo ko 'tong tinignan.
"Bakit po?" usisa ko.
"That's why you're here, para mag-sorry?" he asked, amused, and I nodded. "Then come with me," dagdag pa nito.
After a short while, I saw myself staring at Kael's scowling face.
"How dare you come here unannounced!" sigaw n'ya.
"Gaddiel, attitude," his father said.
"Who told you to come here?" tanong n'ya.
"Wala." Ibinaba ko ang tingin ko sa sahig.
"Then why are you here?"
"I can buy my own meal. You can go now and take that pack of trash with you."
"No, she's staying," Mr. Matteo announced. "It's almost lunch, why don't you join us, iha?" he added, fixing his gaze at me.
"No, she's leaving." "Take a cab and go home," dagdag pa n'ya at tumayo na.
"No one's leaving.
