I could no longer remember the last time that I felt my heart throb in awe because of a man. But I guess, what I saw today would be the most memorable one.
I was curious of what his room might look like since we're both not allowed to enter each other's room, so I decided to take a peek inside.
Paintings hanging all over the walls of the room welcomed my vision, but no matter how much I narrowed my eyes, I wasn't able to clearly visualize what was painted on each canvas. There was also a white lamp placed on the bedside table and a huge all white bed that could possibly accommodate five to six people.
But what really caught my eyes was the Hippopotamus stuffed toy that I gave him, which he was holding as he settled himself to sit on his bed.
My heart nearly skipped a beat when his lips curved into a smile, like anytime, it would take the route to my throat to exit. To my surprise, my lips stretched like it had its own mind and I wouldn't deny that I romanticized his action. I guess that was just me, being a fragile hearted woman.
I was too engrossed watching him cuddle my gift, when in a split second, a soft cotton landed roughly on my face. There I saw the Hippo on the floor, a step away from my feet. From the stuffed toy on the floor, I traveled my gaze to the person who threw it.
"That toy is very ugly," Kael said before he slammed his bedroom's door closed.
The loud thud from his door brought me back to my consciousness.
"Ang rupok mo, self, hayup ka," I murmured to myself before I picked up the toy on the floor.
It was the same mild scent that he was wearing the first day I met him.
He went straight to my direction and snatched the toy off my arm. He clutched it to his chest.
He held the toy behind his back and raised his brow as well. "None of your business," he said. "What's with the corporate attire?"he added, while lingering his gaze from my head down to my feet.
"I have a job interview," sagot ko naman na naging dahilan ng pagkunot ng noo niya.
"You are already working for me and being paid by my father. What you are going to earn from whatever job you will have, is just a centavo compared to how much you are being paid to flirt with me, so what for?"
"This job is incapable of gratifying me with a career growth, Kael.
He partially loosened his necktie and held my gaze. "But I'm waving this day off, so you, too, should stay home and do what you are paid to do."
My shoulders dropped in dismay.
He clicked his tongue and completely withdrew the tie off his collar as he trotted off to his room.
Sana.
