My few days at work passed, and I guess I wasn't doing that well in terms of managing my class. But I couldn't blame them, for our discussion concerns the sexual intercourse of men and women.
At dahil Society and Culture with Family Planning ang tinuturo ko sa kanila, I had to bear with the earthly things again.
Especially for our next meeting, ni hindi ko nga alam kung paano mag-suot ng condom sa lalaki, but I'd be teaching them that by next week. I think google or youtube could educate me. Bahala na.
"As I've said, I need you guys to bring a pack of condoms and two to three eggplants per group for the next meeting," I reiterated, for I don't think my first announcement sunk into them. "The activity that we'd be having next week isn't a laughing stock for any of you to take unseriously. Do you understand?"
In chorus, I heard, Yes, Ma'am, as a response from them before I dismissed our class. I heard some of them squealing with excitement for our next meeting.
Just like the past few days, I went to the cafeteria alone. So I had no other choice but to call Kael, no matter how nonsensical our convo would possibly be, at least, I wouldn't look stupid while eating alone.
It took him three consecutive rings before he answered my call.
"Kumakain ka na, Kael?"
"Nagugutom ako."
"Nasa opisina ka 'di ba? Bumili ka na ng pagkain mo."
"Bring me a pack of lunch."
"I did that once and you said you can buy your own meal. Besides, I'm at work, I can't do that."
"I said bring me a pack of lunch!"
"Kael-"
Hindi ko naituloy ang sasabihin ko nang may lumapit na isang professor sa 'kin, so I had to put our call on hold.
"Bakit po, Sir?" I asked as soon as I withdrew the phone from my ear.
"Ma'am, you can share a table with us. Kesa mag-isa ka rito." He beamed, I did the same.
He helped me with my tray and ushered me to their table. Tatlo silang magkakasama, isang babae at dalawa silang lalaki. The other guy appeared to me as a skirt by heart, judging by the softness of his features.
After settling my meal on the table and exchanging very quick niceties with them, I had to excuse myself, dahil kausap ko pa si Kael sa phone.
"Kael-"
"Did you just put me on hold?!"
"May lumapit kasi sa 'king professor, he asked me to share a table with them. Alangan namang hindi ko kausapin?"
"I should be your priority!"
"Third rule. Bawal sumigaw."
"Like I care!"
"Kumain ka na, kasi kakain na rin ako. May klase na 'ko kaagad ng ala-una."
"Bring me a pack of lunch!"
"Bahala ka, Kael."
I ended the call right after my last remark. Tumawag ulit s'ya but I ignored it. Hanggang sa tumunog ulit ang phone ko, I received a text from him.
