Yesterday was an unexpected revelation for me, but what was more unlooked-for was the fact that I was inside Kael's car and we were parked in front of a white house with the likes of a mansion due to its elephantine structure.

When I asked him about his sister last night, he wasn't even surprised when I told him that I was professionally related to her. It was like a foreseen matter for him.

"That was purely coincidental, she's a Psychology graduate, so are you," was his explanation without being shaken with my divulgence.

I dismissed the idea of asking more questions and decided to concede, for his argument was strong and no rebuttal could possibly muddle it.

"Ano'ng ginagawa natin dito? Nasaan tayo?" I asked, though he already told me many times earlier not to ask.

He turned his head to my side as he unbuckled his seatbelt. "No questions," he said and got out of the car. I did the same.

An old woman, wearing a housekeeper's livery, was standing by the gate beside a tall and brawny guard.

"Good evening po, Sir Gaddiel," bati niya kay Kael bago niya ibinaling ang tingin sa akin. "Good evening po, Ma'am."

"Good evening po," I greeted back while pasting a genuine smile on my face, she did the same.

Kael didn't bother to exchange pleasantries with her. He rather gestured his hand with a beckoning sign, I had no choice but to follow.

As soon as we entered the mansion, Mister Matteo welcomed us with a warm smile.

"It's good to see you in good shape, Shimon, knowing that you're under my son's care." Mister Matteo beamed.

"That's flattering, Giddeon. Very," Kael uttered irreverently.

I looked at him with widened eyes. Para akong nanay na nagalit sa kabastusan ng anak niya.

"What?" masungit na tanong niya sa akin.

Mister Matteo's laugh stopped me from addressing his son's query.

"Get used to that, hija," he said. "That's how he is and how will ever be. Better yet, let's head to the dining room and savor every meal that my maids cooked for us," dagdag pa ng Papa niya. Naglakad na kami papunta sa dining area.

Every movable present in the corners of their home as we bellowed down the halls to their dining was visually fetching. They were all shouting with glamour and class.

Black and white were the dominating hues that I noticed as I roamed my eyes around. There wasn't much furniture to be seen, making me conclude that Mister Matteo's a minimalist. The soothing fragrance of a eucalyptus enveloped the whole place, it was immensely relaxing.

The vases placed in every corner were the vases that I only happened to see on TV, when I watch series starring high-end characters. It was a possession to be brought only by those who are too loaded to dispose of their money over something unnecessary.

When we reached the dining room, I wasn't that surprised to see beyond the number of viands placed on a queen-sized table. Being one of the richest families in the country, there was prolly no reason for me to ask why.

It must be their normal dinner setting, compared to someone like me, who came from the lower class, who only has one or two viands to eat every meal. Minsan pangat pa. Pangatlong init.

"Good evening," came a familiar female voice from my behind.

It was Mrs. Yañez.

"Good evening po, Ma'am," I mumbled and she smirked devilishly. I wasn't supposed to be caught off guard, but then, I was inside her territory and she looked like a territorial woman.
