"Baba, let's go," I heard Kael say while I was slipping my heels on my left foot.

"We'll be late for work."

"You can go, ako na lang ang maglo-lock ng—"

"No. Starting today, I'll be driving you and be fetching you to and from your work," he said, cutting me off.

"If this is about yes—"

"Yes, this is about yesterday. And no, I don't want to hear anything from you. I've already made up my mind, you'd just be wasting your saliva which"—He raised his pointing finger— "You'd rather be wasting on me in bed."

"Kael! Umayos ka—"

"It's baba. So let's go." He started to walk to the doorway but stopped after a few steps and turned to look at me with a smirk plastered on his well favored face. "Unless...you want to waive the day off and spend it doing....me..."

He was comfortably reclining his back on his car while roaming his eyes around as if waiting for his eyes to land on someone he was after to see. And they did land on me.

"I thought God made everyone in his image and likeness, how come this guy looked like a shit," Kael commented when Cedric reached us.

I hurriedly nudged him on his arm but he didn't budge and even lurked his gaze on Cedric from head to toe.

"Lovely morning, Shimon. Same with you, bro." He tossed a quick glance on me then to Kael, then the distance between his brows shortened. "Kuya mo?" tanong nito sabay turo kay Kael.

Shuta.

"As far as I know we prohibit bottle traders to enter-"

"What did you say? Do I look like one to you?" Instead of answering my question, he referred his words to Kael. His face darkened as he addressed his question to the laughing man beside me. "Sino ka ba?"

Kael was laughing mockingly as if the latter was trying to exchange barbs with him, when he wassn't, 'cause he was obviously pissed by his impudence.

"Oh, you wouldn't want to know who I am, Frederick."

"And why would I not want to know, if I may ask, Sir?"

"It's getting late—"

"An impertinent someone's name is neither here nor there to me," Kael replied, giving no chance to me to completely utter my line. "So to answer your query, why would a man like you, would want to know that the woman he's head over heels at is already taken? That's a dash to the fragments of your romantic fantasies about her, I'm just saving you from the agony, Sir."
