I enter the smithy when people are gathered elsewhere, not really bothering to sneak because everyone saw me ride that dragon. It's no secret anymore. Although I don't bring him through the town because it would cause too much of a disturbance I'd rather not deal with, not to mention I don't know how he would handle being around more than four people at a time... and strangers at that.
And I know what else you're thinking. Yes I asked the blacksmith permission before I used this stuff... again. He said since I saved their town I can do whatever I want in here. Pretty great that I don't have to ride for hours to go to Berk's forge and then back.
But I'm eager to get to work on these designs while we take a break from training. It's odd not feeling the pain of working out but Rapunzel has such an interesting gift and the history of that doesn't align with anything my father and tribe ever taught me about faith in the gods. Maybe when this is all over I'll ask them more about the one they believe in.
I hold my notebook in hand and I'm not really paying attention to my surroundings when I enter—
"Gah!" I jump and hold my heart when I shut my eyes. But then I reopen them and go back to what I was doing. "Just hanging out by yourself?" I raise a brow at Astrid who looks like she was waiting for someone, her arms crossed.
"No, I'm here too," Ruffnut adds when she comes out from where she was behind the swords.
"Are you going to tell us what's going on?" she interrogates me, getting right to the point.

I sigh. They would never believe me so what do I say to that? "What are you asking exactly?" I play dumb as I begin to heat the forge, pulling down some freshly made leather after I do that.
"Hiccup," Astrid nears me. "We saw a guy freeze dragons with a magic staff, we saw a woman heal people with her hair, we saw you flying on a dragon with Princess Merida, and you four have been disappearing constantly for days. We all know something is going on; more than the attack of the dragons."
I prepare to cut the material after making the proper measurements, but then turn to them with a sarcastic laugh. "Yeah well you're not going to believe me so why would I even try to tell you guys?"
"Says you," Tuffnut says when he comes from behind the shields.
"Wh—how many of you guys are in here?!" I throw up my hands.
"None of your business," Snoutlout comments when he comes into view.
"Hi Hiccup," Fishlegs also walks around to see me.
I let out an exasperated sigh.
"Hiccup, just tell us," Astrid says.
"Alright I'll tell you guys on two conditions: you believe anything and everything I say no matter how ridiculous it sounds, and there's no mocking me about any of it, on any score, ever," I say a bit loudly but sternly.
