As soon as our army emerges into the thick cloud, none of us can see anything. Hiccup in front of me becomes barely visible, only the dragon's tail clear as I manage to follow him. Oh gosh, how do we get everyone through this without them getting lost?

My eyes search my surroundings, seeing gray in all directions except for the Night Fury tail I follow. I try to think of a solution to this problem and then it hits me. "Rapunzel! Remember the story I told you about a reindeer on Christmas Eve?!" I call to my right.

"No!?" she replies with confusion.

"Ugh! Okay forget it—Just shine your light and go ahead of Hiccup! Quick!"

I see beams of golden light break through the fog and she speeds up to get in the front. Now that we have a beacon, it's time to solve the other problem. I fly up to Hiccup's side. "Hey, how do we know which way to go?" I ask over the sound of the wind.

He looks at me with his visor still down over his face. "I..."

But Toothless's chittering interrupts us.

I look down at the Night Fury and see his ears begin to twitch, pupils turned to slits. He then is super alert and hiccup and I exchange a glance of contemplation over his reaction. That's when I notice my dragon behaving in a similar way. And Toothless jerks Hiccup twenty degrees to the right suddenly, my dragon doing the same.

In fact, with Rapunzel's light shining, I can see some others behind me, and they are all following us as the dragons begin to instinctively know where to go from here.

I see Snotlout tugging on the reins of his beast. "Hookfang what's your problem?!"

"Hey! Don't fight him! Let him go! Everyone stop steering! Let your dragons lead!" I try to call to anyone close enough to hear.

"I hope we're right about this," Hiccup says a bit more quietly.

"Only one way to find out," Merida replies at his side.

We follow Rapunzel's light ahead as the dragons continue on through the mist. It becomes increasingly unnerving the longer we travel, because it feels like a colorless void all around us that stretches on infinitely like space without stars.

Everyone is quiet now and the anxiety is sinking back in as we anticipate what is going to happen or what we will find.

We start to see shadows eventually, the only noise being the wind of the multiple dragons we ride and the sound of the waves under us

We start to see shadows eventually, the only noise being the wind of the multiple dragons we ride and the sound of the waves under us. They all suddenly bank left and then dip down, getting close to the water as large rock formations pass us by. People begin to whisper and become frightened as we get closer.
