41• Never Planned That One Day I'll Lose You

A/N I can't wait for Riverdale to start again. As I live in London I have to wait on Thursday's to watch it.

If you haven't read the 'Larove' book series please do. The author is called themoonlightdemon 
The first book it called "I don't date cheerleaders'. And no she didn't ask me to promote it I just love the series so so much that's why I haven't been updating. Tell me if you read, it would be fun to talk about it.

Toni Topaz POV

"Toni, you're scaring me."

Veronica finally opened her mouth after a long ten minutes of silence. 

She, along with Yoshi, watched me as I walked around the room like a Nascar car. 

Since the night at Cheryl's house two days ago, my head couldn't decide which was the best thing to do about the trip. 

A large part of me wanted to catch the plane and go to Frankfurt to live my dream, but another was not ready. 

"It wasn't supposed to be so complicated, just pack your bags, put your violin and get on the plane", I got into conflict with myself and it was Yoshi's bark that stopped me for a few moments between the coffee table and the wall. 

Veronica was filing her nails and seemed disinterested in my internal conflict, but when I sighed and started to turn again, she tapped her thighs to get my attention. 

"Okay, enough."

For a moment, I saw my mother planted in front of me. 

"If you keep spinning like that, in a little while you will stop in Japan. Look, what else are you looking for, Toni? Is this all because Cheryl did not worry about your trip to Frankfurt?"

"Not quite, Veronica, it's just ..."

"Well, I think that's exactly what it is. You were expecting an explosive reaction, I know you very well.  Toni, Cheryl is not like any other person you have been with. She is a focused woman who knows how to ponder things, but that does not mean that she is not upset because you will be traveling for a month. I'm ninety-nine percent sure that the only thing that's turning you around like a chicken with no neck is the fear that Cheryl will find someone while you're traveling. Am I wrong?"

I lowered my head and raised it again, facing the ceiling.

"Get that idea out of your head, creature.  Cheryl is not going to find someone else, she doesn't have time for that. Blossom Enterprise, Theo and now, Melissa. Please put your hand on your conscience and think about yourself a little!  It has been a while since you've done anything but live for the Chateau, it's time to fly with your own wings. We have other teachers here, Cheryl volunteered to take care of a lot of things while we're gone.  I never begged you for anything, Toni, but I'm going to do it now;  we're going to Frankfurt.  It's been our dream since we left college!"

"I know, Veronica! I am not forgetting any of this."

"I saw you languish because of Peaches, I endured your emotional bondage for her because I promised that I wouldn't interfere anymore, not after that fight I had with her and we almost ended up at the police station.  I refuse to allow you to stop living your life to live for someone else."

"Enough"

"We are going to Frankfurt, it is decided."

I stood in the middle of the room staring at Veronica with the old certainty that she was right and there was nothing I could do to change the situation.
